Full price scripts on alt characters.

The way I’ve understood it is if you’ve completed quest line on one character and bought those grimoires and scripts on that character you should after doing the tutorial be able to buy those scripts at a reduced price. This isn’t the case for me. I have also had 0 ink from anything so it’s like the game isn’t registering my main character progression. Anyone else have similar problems?

I think but might be wrong, that for subsequent characters to use and buy the cheaper scripts they need to finish the very first part of the questline.

That is the quest called Second Era of Scribing.

As for ink, did you not get the 12 inks from completing the quests on your first character?

Drop wise from nodes or mobs, it can be very low, some people definitely have more luck than others.

I've not farmed for it and have probably had less than 20 drop in normal game play.

scripts get a reduced price only if you have at least 1 character who has learned the script

it doesnt even matter if those alt characters have completed the scribing intro (if you buy from the archive)

you have to complete the "second era of scribing" quest to unlock the scholarium vendor though

So I have completed quest line on one. But for the subsequent characters that have done all the way through indrik the scripts are not discounted.

Completing questlines doesn’t discount anything. Making your first purchase of a grimoire or script is what discounts it for other characters.

For example, when I buy the Trample Grimoire for the first time, it costs 50k (45k during ZoZ). From then on, that specific Grimoire will then be 10k instead of 50k (or 9k instead of 45k during the event) on every other character for me. But the other Grimoires remain 50k. As soon as I buy, say, Vault on any character for that initial price, my other characters get it for 10k, etc.

With scripts it can be hard to tell what’s discounted because there’s a huge range of prices. The scripts you get from the Indrik quest are only 10g or so to purchase on alts, but the random Focus, Signature, and Affix scripts that the vendor rotates through are much higher. They also aren’t sold at the same price point as each other. Some are as high as 60k, some 40k, etc. Whatever their initial price, though, subsequent purchases of the same script get 80% off.

Here are some discounted scripts for comparison. I learned all these on my main, so they're all 80% off for this alt.

Earlier this week, before I knew it on any character, Expedition was 20k. When the event started, it decreased to 18k. I decided to wait and got it from a daily. I ate it on my main. The price is now 3.6k (80% off of the event price) on my alts. It will go back to 4k (80% off the non-event price) after the event.

Bleed was originally 40k, down to 36k with the event. At 80% off for subsequent purchases it's 7.2k. After the event it will be 8k.

Immobilizing Strike was originally 60k, down to 54k with the event. Event price is 10.8k; afterwards it will be 12k.

These are some of the scripts from Wing of the Indrik as they appear for sale on alts who haven't done that quest. They're normally 10g but are currently 9g, discounted 10% for the event.

Inks come from gathering as well I've received quite a number of them gathering materials from all over.

The merchant fixed itself. Ink drop rate still terrible gotten 3 from harvesting. The other 72 are from doing the quests on multiple toons
