Need advice for a new "main" char

Hello, after a long break, I've decided to come back to Tamriel, however, I'm bored out of my current character (Magicka templar), and I'm think about to roll to a new character (since there is a huuuuuge break from my current state in term of DLCs and experience (kinda lack of knowledge), I'm think this would be a pretty solid and wise decision to create a new character and re-explore the game again, w/ any kind of rush, just enjoying the moment, questing all zones and dlcs and so on.

I'm think about a Nightblade and an Arcanist. I love to do PVE (PVP never tried at all). What I want to do is solo play, fun and exploring the world, do all activities and quests, crafting and collecting skins, mounts etc., doing the DFark Bortherhood quests, and playing as an Assassin (WW or Vamp) and do some RP stuffs if thats possible (if not, so be it I can skip the RP).

The weapons what I've really love (in the past) was: dual wield and bow. For that I think NB would be the best choose, however, I've heard the Arcanist is a pretty neat class for solo players and it has a huge damage, but I dunno if the DW+BOW can work with that, or I need to leave those wapons if I roll for the Arcanist?
If you have questions, contact me via discord or ingame (PC-EU).

For Solo Stamina Arcanist is best with a Staff on the backbar. However, a Bow is good too, you just need to find am alternate source for Major Breach. Maybe Scribing? ...
Nightblade isn't what it used to be in terms of survivability. MagBlade has healing, but if you try to get reasonable armor? ... Irgh ...
For a main character you should probably take your time and create a personality and backstory first. Someone you care about and stick with, even if they are bad at fighting or surviving. Ah, and a look or a style. That is more important than a class or a weapon.
If anyone here says: OH! But, PVP! I swear I'll ...

Thank you for the valuable input and respectfully recommend to discuss that aspect of ESO on the PVP forum.

I recommend 5 pieces of orders wrath and 5 gourmands or heartland conqueror. And two innate axiom while leveling up. Infused weapons with dw one weakening one crusher enchant. And a staff. Healing or lightning. Put all your stats on magica then wear medium gear with magica enchants. Put eaither health or magica recover on your staff for enchants. Dw wants whirling blades and blood craze along with concealed weapon surprise attack and that one nb skill that sucks life from range and your vamp ult with bats. Can’t remember all names. Then you got to just manage your tempo so as to rotate between Stam and magica attacks. Healing on back bar life steal and your one fave healing staff option Then the stam heal along with orbs and twisting path nb heal ult.

    Go have fun!

If you're considering a nightblade, just take this thread into account:
    https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/641376/grim-focus-permaglow/p1

There's a permanent glow on the character's weapons (and not properly shaped) when the Grim Focus skill has any skill points allocated (i.e. it doesn't even need to be equipped for the glow to occur). So if you can live with that, then nightblade is still an option.

There is a huge difference between collecting skins / mounts and all the other, casual stuff you mentioned. While I'm sure there are some skins available from casual activities, many are associated with hardcore combat achievements.

Stamina Arcanist is flavor of the year. Yes, the damage comes easy, yes it's basically huge, yes dual-wield front bar is, in fact, meta and a bow back bar would be fine too. That said, the weapon skills you would use on a meta DD build are Blade Cloak and Endless Hail. The feeling of that build would very much be "it's an Arcanist", not so much a dual-wield / bow character.

If you're bored with your magicka templar, then arguably neither the Arcanist with it's beam, nor a magicka nightblade, would feel a million miles different. Arcanist shares the automatic AOE (area of effect) damage with magplar's Puncturing Sweeps, while a solo magblade shares the healing from damage feel. In overland solo play you could basically just spam Sap Essence.

The fact that Arcanist is so easy to use in endgame and deals "huge" damage has no bearing until you do veteran DLC dungeons and trials. You'll want to be gravitating towards difficult group content and voice chat before those qualities matter. In that case, however, you might also just stick with your templar. It doesn't lag much behind in ease of use and damage, and you may find the combat difficulty reigniting your interest in playing the class.

Given what you've said, though, I'm assuming that's not what you're after and I'd choose stamina nightblade. This has less automatic healing, arguably making it a bit harder to play, but that will keep you on your toes and give you something new. You will more naturally end up using weapon skills and get more of a dual-wield / bow feel. Cloak is also unique and useful to avoid mob aggro when you don't want it, and will be useful for Thieves Guild and Dark Brotherhood missions.
