Arena Gladiator Proofs vs. Siege of Cyrodiil Merits? Is there something I'm missing?

So I've got most of the Siege of Cyrodiil Merit stuff in the game, but I haven't gotten a single Arena Gladiator proof. The quest I have is "Kill 150 Players" which I've held onto for months now, and it's up to 11 now. Checking Tamriel Trade Center, it seems I'm best off farming only Siege of Cyrodiil Merits and flipping items to buy the Gladiator stuff, and I was wondering if there is some sort of trick to do the proofs more easily or some reason as to why the value of the proof items isn't 100x the price of the Merits items on the marketplace. I can hardly ever find more than a few enemies at a time after minutes of hunting on my horse, let alone killing 150 players in a single day. The IC quests in comparison (or, the three I do at least) take a few minutes a piece and it just seems silly to get the gladiator stuff the intended way. Is there a trick to it beyond just guilds?

the trick is to not do the "Kill 150 players" quest.

the "conquer 9 resources" ,
"conquer 3 keeps" ,
or "conquer Bruma, Cropsford, and Vlastarus" quests are way faster.

so i suggest abandoning your current daily and hoping for one of the others.
Or trying it on another character if you can't get a better daily on your current character.

Go to Greyhost during primetime, find a friendly keep which is under attack and setup oils inside it (watch where other players are placing them for an idea of where to put it next time etc) you'll likely fill that 150 players in about 30m if the map is active.

If you are trying to PvP in a zone with 2 bars population or less, it will take a long time to get 150. Even 3 bars can be slow.

As noted you need to enter when the population is robust. Toss some area effects on big clumps of people, siege them, etc and you will get the 150. You only have to do a single instance of damage on another player to get credit for this quest.
