Melding - the early version to Dual Enchantments and Traits

Tahlavos17
Hello,

I would like to suggest that in possibly the next few Major DLCs that we could possibly see Melding be a secondary part of the DLC. How I see it is that there is a new currency added alongside the gear you wish to meld alongside a copy of the trait material used in each of the gear, a copy of each glyph, a copy of the style, and some of the crafting materials used to make said gear. Both pieces of gear will need to be at the same level, and be at the same quality to be melded, and you can only meld two items at a time.

Here is an example of how it could be done:
Rubedite Tsaesci Armor of Health with a Infused Trait + Rubedite Tsaesci Armor of Stamina with Reinforced Trait + a Truly Superb Glyph of Health + a Truly Superb Glyph of Stamina + 1 Bloodstone + 1Sardonyx + 3 - 4 Snake Fang + 300 - 420 Rubedite Ingot + 50 Melding Tokens that can be combined into a unique set of armor.

Yes, This does seem a bit overpowered, but when you look at it from a different view where when most of the veteran players have way more crafting materials then they know what to do with it doesn't seem that overpowered to say the least. True PvP will need time to adjust to the new mechanic, but with how many people have asked in the forums for dual enchanting, and being told no some of us would have to get a little bit creative to make something that could be balanced for the game. I've done my research that most of the PvP'ers are slowly phasing out of doing anything PvP related from YouTuber Arttea where the scene is slowly dying off. This would be useful for those who have new options for armory builds to choose from when tackling certain targets whether it's World Bosses to even Story Bosses and everything in between.

If we can get a Scribing in ESO then why not add something like Melding to the game that is somewhat balanced out that has a bit of a hefty cost to get the items you want to use throughout your journey in Tamriel while still being close to balanced as far as it could be. I think if this does get added that there is a new Crafting Station that could be bought for crowns for the player to meld their armors together in their homes or guild houses. But hey this maybe an idea from a mad man or it might be a genius idea that could breath new life into ESO. If you would like to leave your ideas on this please do so, but try and not roast me too hard over this idea.

It sounds like a grindy idea to add a new tier of gear progression, and like a feature from another MMO that people want added to ESO. I would prefer to have an excess of materials (which are used to make crafted gear now that we have multiple useful crafted sets) that are cheap than have materials become an expensive and grindy gate to improving your build.

I definitely wish we had more options for armor and jewelry enchanting, but I've never seen someone request dual enchants or express that many issues with our limited enchantment options.

Well I wanted to be a bit balanced due to the suggestion for dual enchantments being shot down in the past, and was looking at it as medium grind just for dual enchantments, plus if I just made it dual enchantments then the gear with traits would have been over looked in the process thus why I added both. Yes, it might be a bit overkill, but it is worth it when you consider all that you get in the process. Maybe I did over way too much for it, but I feel as though it would be worth it for a new tier of gear. But thanks for the response.

Interesting idea and thanks for sharing.

I think there are too many currencies in the game as it is.

having multi-effect traits or enchantments would be nice, but the system your proposing is entirely convoluted and would be a massive waste of time and mats

multi-effect enchantments could be done by simply introducing a new triangle rune that has different effects from what we currently have

traits they could just allow a system where you can input more than 1 trait material in and it would have multi-effect of each type of trait, but they would be reduced effectiveness to keep the balance (this is probably significantly more difficult to do technically than the multi-effect enchantments)

i have my main house (grand topal hideaway) listed in the housing tours, it has multiple target dummies, scribing altar, and grandmaster stations (in progress being filled out), as well as almost every antiquity furnishing on display to preview them

feel free to stop by and use the facilities

Yeah it maybe a bit convoluted, but with how many other users have posted seems a bit too simple that ZOS Staff have turned down in the past, and maybe there could be a slight rework to my proposed system for the dual enchantments and traits. I just didn't want anything too overpowered for the system, and from what I've gathered it would be a massive grind, but making it too easy would destroy the PvP aspect of the game.
