Hi since having all the crafting materials at hand, that I need to furnish a new home I’d like your opinion on something. Do you guys thing that converting regular crafting materials into housing crafting materials is a good idea? I personally have lots of regular crafting materials lying around unused, yet housing materials are so fast consumed when furnishing a new home.

Yes that is definitely something I need! I have the so much regular materials, that I can net ever use them all! But make a good ratio!

I personally think there is indeed the need for a better way to farm materials but this is not a solution I like since it will increase prices of regular materials.

I personally think the amount of crafting materials we currently get is plenty and I do not need more than those I get.

I don't know if my experience is anything like normal. Having played on and off since the game launched, I have a mountain of all crafting materials including furnishing ones.

I tend to harvest most things I pass.

I only need to visit guild vendors when a furnishing uses a style item I don't have enough of.

What the devs want you to do with excess non-furnishing mats is writ and writ and writ and writ and writ which I've done but it's super boring. You do get vouchers and a bit of gold which aren't useless but there's no joy in it.

Perhaps something like: Expand the transmutation system (eg create furniture mats from other mats)?

Let us decon Furniture with a good return of mats.

I'm offended that ZOS decided to cut way back on server resources for Cyrodiil so they could put those resources toward housing. ZOS should have stuck to the original business model the original devs set forth for the game.

This seems more consistent with current craft practices. And a welcome - and overdue - adjustment to the game

Not sure it worked quite like that nor as specifically.

Pretty sure pvp performance degradation was initially caused by moving a lot of client-side stuff server side followed by years of account number bloat without any expansion of the core architecture resulting in the pvp peak-time slide-show observed on all platforms for years now.

It would add more value to regular mats too, which would be a good thing. Wood is least useful while heartwood is always in demand. What about decorative wax though? Or would it not have anything that could be converted to it?

With all the activities that are present in the game right now, it is hard to find time to harvest mat nodes. When I do, after an hour or so I have very few furnishing mats. I can use those up very quickly just crafting a handful of items.

There needs to be either an increase in the drop rate of furnishing mats or some other source to get them (other than ToT matches, of course). The idea suggested here would solve that problem, but I am not sure that it fits into the current structure of the game. We pick up furnishing mats along with raw mats, not create them from raw mats. That would be refining mats.

So I don’t have a separate solution other than mentioned above.

Well I've been to Cyrodiil in the first years. To be honest it was awsome to ride in those big groups, yet once fighting started it was nothing more than the biggest lag festival I've ever seen.

And to be honest The Elder Scrolls was a gamebrand known for it's singelplayer roleplaying games! Many had been asking for CO-OP for those games and some modders attempted a multiplayer mod for Skyrim. I know that TESO was in development since before Skyrim was released, financed by the big sucsess that Oblivion was back in the day. They took the world, lore, money and fandom and created a MMORPG with PvP focus. They messed up the lore, turned central Cyrodiil into a PvP region with generic forts to fight over and left a lot of PvE players with no endgame, just to cater to a random PvP audience, that is not rooted in the fanbace of the franchise they have been using. The game had a hard time untill it did embrace what the name "The Elder Scrolls" stands for a lot more. A world rich of lore with a lot of PvE and yes housing that is part since at least The Elder Scrolls 3 Morrowind. I am not a fan of many of the compromieses that were made to enable the PvP war! Lest of all the alliances and the coresponding storyline! It is still mindbargeling, how some of the conflichts between some of the members of the same alliances were ignored. I'd perfer to play a civilian character.

So I personally think that Hopusing has more of a right to be in the game than PvP, if one feature needed cutting. Wich to be clear I do not think! PvP has the right to be in an MMORPG like every other tipical MMORPG feature! Just like housing! Bysides the big crown houses cost as much as some AAA Singelplayer games. So players buying these do much more to finance the game I asume. And that does not account for furniture that is also sold. And of cause many of us also buy the chapters and pay for ESO+!

But all of that is off topic. So if you have nothing to add to the topic please be offended somewhere else! @ZOS_Kevin please moderate this if further off topic posts make it nessesarry. I'd perfer a constructive debate upon the availebilety of housing materials. And sorry for the rant.

I didn't vote because none of the options seemed right for me.

I always use more housing mats than I care to collect, farming is just not my thing.

I sell stuff and buy my housing mats from guild traders, I have plentiful supplies of stuff to sell and if I want fast cash I force myself to do some surveys, refine the mats and sell the gold upgrades.

I believe furniture deconstruction is likely to happen this year BUT I would also bet the materials returned will be so small in numbers that it will make me think twice before deconstructing anything.

I would love to be right on the former and wrong on the latter ofc!!
