Proc arcanists and warden mains help me out!

I’ve tried a number of different strategies to try to combat these in open world but nothing to my liking. The best I can do is turtle and stalemate them with them getting decent pressure so I really have to keep heals going on my dk. But trying to go offensive on them even getting them to 60% is a monster undertaking and it’s either shield spam or polar wind and back to full.

So I’m here asking proc arcanists mains and warden mains what type of character or build really gives you trouble?

Is it burst? Is it pressure builds? Damaging sustain?

I’ve been thinking lately outside the box and maybe mangle+oblivion damage but I’m really reaching and would love to know from the players themselves.

No im not asking for nerfs just helpful insight from people who play them on ways to better deal with them

Assuming you're referring to the MDW/Vatesh pressure builds on Arc like what I main: they don't demand you use any specific strategy or playstyle, and they don't win on procs alone. Dawnbreaker Tentacle is how they burst for lethal, but since both of those are AoEs, running the Evasion buff will mitigate a lot and help you keep pace with their punishingly consistent damage.

If you see a green geometric shape appear on your character, their stun is about to proc, you can block it but can NOT dodge it. If the stun procs, wait for about a half second before attempting to break, if you react too quickly you can end up cc locked, yes it somehow seems to punish you for playing the game too well lol.

Running an execute gives you an advantage against their shield, it doesn't burst heal once they burn their Crux, so any new shields will still be taking execute damage while they wait for Vigor. Be forewarned, DD Sorcs do NOT have this weakness with their crazy healy shield, and are currently doing pretty much everything DD Arcs do but better.

Haven't played as much Warden and not sure which style of Warden you're referring to, but in general I end up playing attrition against them, trying to grind them down on resources and cumulative mistakes. Take all of this with a grain of salt as many players seemingly only play to stalemate, they aren't worth engaging unless you're zerging focusing them down.

Excellent reply and thank you so much! There’s a lot of useful information in there for someone who’s never played an arc!

I’ve always struggled with the cc great to know a counter and also the delay for break just incase.

Also, I really had thought the way of fire/vate and mdw were the damage that was killing me. But after reading the description for tentacle/flail might be the real culprit heal+soft cc+ spammable. Need to figure out a way to try and avoid that while putting pressure on them.

Although my biggest pain point is actually dealing enough damage solo to them rather than being able to survive them.

Tentacle is a narrow AoE that extends a medium distance forward. You can dodge or move to the side, or block cast heals through it. Arcs aren't specifically that tanky when you look at what NB and Sorc do these days, but it's like people see "hp scaling shield" and feel obligated to build more tanky than necessary, plus their class offensive toolkit is jank in PvP and needs support from not just procs but specific tools like Draugrkin to avoid being another 40k hp stalemate brick build.
