I only got one chance to flip the switches and cross then it locked me out. I am at 4/5 completion, is this intended? I have gotten 3 tries before.

you get less attempts as you get higher difficulty

when your on level 1, if you notice above the stairs in front of the switches theres 3 lanterns/torches which are lit with a blue flame

if you happen to fail, those go out, if you fail when all of them are out, you get locked and cannot complete it

on later difficulties such as 4 and 5, all 3 lights start out unlit meaning you only have 1 chance to complete it

OK thanks for the info. I did not notice this. I was thinking maybe something changed with the update.

Please close the thread as this is not a bug.
