I got 'Error 334: Lost lobby connection' when I voluntarily logged-out to switch characters.

To be quite honest, there is no entitlement to play the game regardless.

It's in the terms of service.

I have checked three of my eleven accounts and they are fine with no missing characters. Will check again once the servers are up again.

OK, story time: before he retired my dad was in charge of IT for a moderately-sized financial institution. There was one time when their banking system went into offline mode for several days because the servers died. The reason the servers died? Kitty litter. A maintenance guy who wasn't actually authorized to do maintenance on the floor where the servers were located had been there anyway doing some maintenance on the air conditioning. He spilled some oil, so he put down some kitty litter to soak it up. What he didn't know (and the fact that he didn't know this was because he hadn't been authorized or trained to work on that floor) was that on the floor with the servers, a lot of the cables and stuff connecting the servers and the power supplies were run under removable panels in the floor. The kitty litter got down beneath those panels and shorted everything out. My dad was FURIOUS with the maintenance supervisor who had sent this untrained guy.
