I've got 3/3 in Blacksmithing, Woodworking and Clothing hireling. They do come every 12 hours. You just need to manage your time. Make sure you're likely to log in at the same a.m. and p.m. time each day and no issue.... like 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.
Sorry to say anyone trying to run there crafting empire on these alone is sadly mistaken. They are nothing more than a SP sink and some added flavour.
I get far better mats from refining ore than I do in the boxes. Tbh when I repec even though I enjoy the letters I'll drop them as there nothing special and I never thought they would be.

right... so to benefit from a skill you invested points in you need to manage your time... you do realize some of us don't have the luxury of logging in once every 12 hours don't you?
the way it's designed now is just horrible. It penalizes the casual player or the player who actually has limited time to play.
Now that everyone who reads this knows that 3/3 hirelings are every 12 hours

Next time you wanna act smug and be a *** about it make sure your IQ is higher than room temperature.
The problem for hireling is at all levels, the chest is sent via MAIL, i should be able to receive mail while being offline aswell, fix that and rank 3 becomes viable for everyone.
I don't know if this is a cheap habituation trick they're trying to pull or it's just bad design.

This is not a problem. This is not bad design. It rewards people for logging on constantly and prevents people from accumulating tons of rare resources while they aren't even playing. You may not like it but that doesn't mean it is a cheap trick or bad design.
And Kuratla was right. It's one point out of very many and you can just not spend the point if you aren't logging on that often.
I'm still waiting for you to point out my flawed argument.Filodendron wrote: »Now that everyone who reads this knows that 3/3 hirelings are every 12 hours

Let's keep it civil shall we?
while I agree with your basic point I don't agree with the way you bring it.This is not a problem. This is not bad design. your argument is flawed aswel; I log on regularly; once a day for several hours at one; I just don't have the luxury to log on twice and saying "it's just one point' is besides the.. well.. point...
I WANT 2 chests a day from my hirelings, I could really use a higher chance at getting legendary level tannins / tempers but the way it currently works I can't partake of this luxury. In a way this penalizes me over players who do have this luxury (and yes I know some of you find this petty, but I have the right to care about stuff I want to care about regardless of what you guys think of it).

Except that was only an addition to my argument. And only a repetition of someone else's argument, at that. My argument was:I'm still waiting for you to point out my flawed argument.Filodendron wrote: »Now that everyone who reads this knows that 3/3 hirelings are every 12 hours

you said it's one point out of very many implying that I have a problem with losing the skillpoint; I don't I have more then enough skillpoints; I just want the 2 chests.
Also, I believe I quoted Filodendron. So I couldn't have been implying anything about you. That assumes I had some knowledge of your argument which had not yet been stated at that time. This is not a problem. This is not bad design.
