Last time ESO excited me at least somehow with lore was Murkmire, and maybe Battlespire related dungeon but there wasn't that much.

I’m hoping we get something with Meridia, maybe the Magne-Ge as a whole. After all, there were theories about the teaser shards that the middle section was a blue version of Meridia’s symbol, perhaps relating to Mnemoli.

I was initially satisfied with Skingrad vs Bosmer-Ayleid cult.
    • Why? Because the Imperials are always best defined in contrast to their neighbors. It's lamentable how Bretonized they've become in places - there's more room to explore in their relationship to other cultures.
    • So I think Colovia is looking brilliant - Bosmer get some screen time, Imperials probably look good in relation to Ayleids, etc.

    But I did NOT expect:
    • EXILE TO EXODUS flipping old narratives and reframing them so well. It makes references from Craglorn & Wrothgar to Yokuda and Dunmer lore, it echoes lore from Elsweyr, it's exciting to see Orcs given such a direct place among all these stories. And it's an EMPOWERING story - less about Trinimac's fall (in this one, that's Boethiah), and more about Malak's ascent (growing into Malacath and then Mauloch, each time more worthy of worship).
    • TWO dungeons - a Malacath one for Orcs - and a Fa-Nuit-Hen one near Old Orsinium. Given EXILE TO EXODUS and Craglorn content, it's really exciting to see what they're up to.
    • And NOW a whole month dedicated to Wrothgar?

Orc lore is scattered across a half-dozen provinces, often given cliche or superficial guest appearances. I WISH Orcs had a zone the quality of Murkmire, where each tribe is so distinguished from each other, be it by motifs, architecture, culture, etc. I still wish Orcs got Structural Furnishings so we could build our own Orsinium neighborhoods like other races do their own cities.

So with my expectations non-existent & my hopes restrained, I am ECSTATIC that they keep shocking me. I'm trying to not get excited, this isn't an Orc expansion, and yet they remember us!

THANK YOU ZOS for remembering the "little" guys.

Glad to see that with some time the votes are rolling in.

I am a little suprised that noone has yet votet for the Bosmer of Aylied bloodline awakening. That seems to be a theme with the upcoming patch on pts and I did honestly expect more exitement over that.

Cosidering the high amount of players interested in Imperial & Bosmer lore I am kind of sorry that I did not come up with more things they might be exited about as options to vote for.

But sadly I was also limited to 10 possible answers. And I wanted to provide players not interested in anything paticular in the chapter an option and those looking for something I did not think of as well.

Thing is that Bosmer fans want them to be Bosmer. (14%)

The only people excited for Bosmer-Ayleids would just be Ayleid fans, which often just make Altmer who are "secretly Ayleids all these years". (9%?) And it's hard to really be excited for a race we know only atrocities about. We already see this new faction attacking other races, not just Imperials, and they're violating the Green Pact too.

Can't wait to see what else comes out, this month keeps looking better.

Ithelia is a significant addition to TES Lore, maybe comparable with Alduin in TES V. She's built on some really old foundations. Nice to see ESO getting to do such a thing.

And, from what we've seen of her so far, my characters and I are starting to wonder if we're on the wrong side.

Mostly I’m hoping for Ayleid goodies for housing, though I really would like (and don’t expect to be included in the new Chapter) to find out how and why the Ayleids (and Altmer) started worshipping the stars when the star signs are a Nedic creation.

I expect and don’t object to getting lore about Ithelia but since she’s new and we know relatively little about her it’s hard to get excited. (I have the same issue with the Argonians.) Her sphere sounds interesting and her physical design is uninspired and that’s all I can say about her right now. 🤷‍♀️

I expect more towards the Daedra, Ayleids and Bosmer.

Why even though I like the Cyrodiils the most? Because the Cyrodiils (Imperials) simply don't have enough effort into them and they are at the point where they're not going to contradict Oblivion on the character of the Cyrodiils and never mind that base game had Colovians and with the Systres not touching on City Bretons my hopes are low on any change.

The Daedric Prince is also something new and not nostalgia bait.

I'm a sucker for Imperial lore as an RL!Imperial. Want to see more differentiation between Colovians versus the Nibenese, and since the last Imperial-centric zone we got (Blackwood) was Nibenese, excited to see a Colovian area again.

From the base game, I understood that Imperial Enjoyers had to bet EVERYTHING on Colovia. Because everything we love is there.

The connection between the Aylieds and Ithelia as well as how her disapearence affected the Aylieds
All of it, but as someone very intrigued by the Ayleids and their reign, I'm very excited to learn how Ithelia's disappearance is connected. I've always speculated about how and why they disappeared, as the Alessian Rebellion hardly seemed to be enough to render an incredibly magically-adept society completely extinct. Sure, sure, we have Pelinal but again: he may have been an immortal god-hero but it always struck me as odd that the Ayleids essentially just disappeared. The Dwemer disappearance makes more sense than that, because at least the running theory is that they zero-summed: that's believable. Ayleids disappearing without some sort of Daedric or divine cause just seems unlikely.

But yeah, in general, I've been longing for a lore-heavy chapter since Summerset and I'm glad we seem to finally be getting one! Granted, I didn't play any of the chapters after Greymoor (which I didn't care for) but still, this just sounds right up my alley as a huge fan of Oblivion and ancient TES lore.

Well if I recall correctly there were also some Aedra worshiping Aylieds that helped with Alessia and her Rebellion. With some Aylied kings ruling als lords after Alessia becoming empress. However those were later on targeted by the Alessian Order that wanted to clense the world of them.

I remember wandering through the area in a previous elder scrolls game when they had problems with vampires ( I think I have the right area?) but I do remember I had just reached a high enough level that I was meeting high level monsters in the surrounding area. The monsters I met there are 2 a penny in ESO so I'm hoping the areas monsters are scary.
