Grim focus works on backbar with oakensoul ring

How to reproduce:
1. equip "Grim Focus" on back bar
2. swap to front bar
3. equip oakensoul ring
4. start LA anything
5. WPD/SPW will be increased with each hit up to 5 times

Seems a little bit unfair as 1 bar nightblades (and sorcerers with bound armor) have access to additional passive slot on backbar. I think it would be more fair if grim focus would stack charges on both bars and only give wpd/spw on the skill bar.

Also daggers from "Bound Armaments" (placed on back bar with oakensoul equipped) a little bit misleading and annoying as i can't use them and also can't get rid of them (without removing skill from backbar)

UPDATE:
can also confirm that this can be reproduced in werewolf form:
1. equip "Grim Focus" on back bar
2. swap to front bar
3. use "Werewolf transformation"
4. start LA anything
5. WPD/SPW will be increased with each hit up to 5 times

if this change go live, werewolf nightblades will get 300dmg for free

PS: Shadow Queen's Labyrinth looks amazing!

mmmmhmmmm. I wonder if this works for the other skills that only have to be equipped on one bar.

It should also work with nightblade's cloak but oakensoul already provides all that buffs.

Thats the current state of how it works though, as long its activated. Only difference with your suggestion is you wouldn't have to activate it. Does seem like this consideration was missed by ZoS though...

Any word as to if this is intentional or a mistake?

I would surmise that this is unintentional.

With 'Tome-Bearer's Inspiration' (the first skill that granted its passives regardless of what bar it was slotted in) it didn't matter because you get those passives from the ring anyway and the 'active' bonus is just too good to pass on so one is going to want it on the front bar so one can activate it.

However Grim Focus is providing an unintended bonus from a bar that should be completely inactive and inaccessible.

Apparently you can benefit from the 8% Max Magicka from Bound Armor as well.

Not trying to **** on WW here, Akatosh knows that I would be delighted to see the devs give it some love rather than hammering nails in its coffin one patch at a time however glitches/oversights like these, specially when the sanctimonious, self-righteous 'dozen' start raging about it, they often attract the attention the sledgehammer.

The poor canine has had enough of that, I don't think it has any joints left uncrushed.

A response from ZOS indicating intent would be delightful but of course that feels like a big ask these days. @ZOS_Kevin @ZOS_GinaBruno any word on this?

My first thought was "Why would you not want the proc on your bar beyond just the passives to begin with" but it at leasts begs the question.

Wonder if this works while wielding volendrung as well.

In the case of werewolf it provides 400 WD for the stamina version of Grim Focus plus minor protection from heal Cloak, and sorc werewolves would get access to minor protection, minor resolve, 8% Magicka, and 8% max HP off bound aegis or 8% stamina, 8% max HP off bound armaments.

This would be a substantial buff to both classes for werewolf and to be perfectly honest, warranted given the current state of werewolf--though I'd hate to see werewolf get hammered harder than it already has because of it.

Yeah, you werewolves definitely deserve some buffs. Hopefully something can be done to grant wolves backbar buffs while denying them to oakensoul users. The latter is essential for balancing this mythic.

Overland difficulty scaling is desperately needed. 9 years. 6 paid expansions. 24 DLCs. 40 game changing updates including One Tamriel, an overhaul of the game including a permanent CP160 gear cap and ridiculous power creep thereafter. I'm sick and tired of hearing about Cadwell Silver & Gold as a "you think you do but you don't" - tier deflection to any criticism regarding the lack of overland difficulty in the game. I'm bored of dungeons, I'm bored of trials; make a personal difficulty slider for overland. It's not that hard.

Sorry to respond to a 9 month old post here, but I just discovered this today on my sorcerer. Bound Aegis is giving me it's bonuses while on my back bar despite me having Oakensoul. The only caveat is that I have to equip Bound Aegis on my front bar, then replace it every time I get out of a loading screen. (I go with inner light for the additional 5%) I for one would like to see it be a legitimate function, and not patched out simply because of how oakensoul is described. It says "... you are unable to swap between your primary and backup weapon sets..." and as far as I'm concerned, abilities that have passives that work on either bar do not break this rule. Sadly I believe they will patch it out and I'll lose my 5% Magika.

What do you mean by "replace it? Swap once after loading screen before equipping oak ring? Does it persist after death?
