Crafted Gear - veteran level requirements

Now I know I probably should have brought this up during beta, but it never even crossed my mind that crafted gear would have level requirements. I understand that people want to feel stronger as they level up and achieve higher veteran ranks but the current system really restricts who you can do dungeons with and makes it harder to introduce new people into the game. One example of this is my brother was unable to start playing at launch and due to the fact that he has been swamped with school related work due to the semester ending soon. So now I am veteran rank 4 and he is just rolling a new character and in order to play with him I am going to have to roll another character which isn't too bad but it would have been fun to be able to craft him a set of gear once he hit 50 and jump right into veteran dungeons. For me veteran levels should feel more like a prestige thing instead of just lvl 51-60 with a new name but in reality very little difference. so basically what im trying to say is why put veteran level requirements on gear.

I don't fully understand. Can't you craft whatever level gear that you have learned to craft? At level 45, as an example, you aren't able to use Ebony gear from level 46. Same applies to any level including the Vet Levels. Perhaps that is the logic that you are questioning, Vet Levels and Vet Gear Levels. I'm confused. How does that relate to making gear for your brother? Are we talking about giving a level 2 character op vet gear to completely unbalance the game? Perhaps build bots or op twinks?

So a level 1 char cannot wear veteran gear maybe?

    Well...duh?

I am a little confused as well.

Also you can group with a lvl 1 character at lvl 50, there's no kill xp, but you still get quest xp.

If you can craft lvl 50 or vet rank gear, you can also craft anything leading up to it, you just need the materials.

That said, EVERYONE can craft lvl 1-14 gear without spending any points or learning any craft. You do not need to spend pts unless you want to build lvl 15+.
