Aye nor Nay on the Infinite Archive?

At first I didn't step foot in there, anything with the word Endless or Infinite uuggh! Liking it now for the most part, especially the armour drops for things I don't have and the class specific armour looks well thought out, good stuff for my PVP NB. And most of all the once a week vendor changes, like this week the lead for the Sea Serpents coil that is a pain. I already have mine but it's a nice change for those that have bad RNG. There are a couple of bugs that are frustrating however but that's bad RNG also!

    i like the Archive.
the boss variety is fun and the rewards are awesome.

though the stage monsters get a bit tedious after Arc 2, just takes way longer to beat them which is less fun.

It was fun for a bit, but kind of feels like it's still in beta. They haven't really talked about addressing any of the issues players raised about it, such as no way to save or skip ahead to harder levels; repetitive enemies and environments; too many trash rounds that offer little other than soaking up increasing amounts of time; lackluster rewards (and the class sets are pretty bad and the style pages are going to be class locked, which doesn't help the matter)...

[EDIT: just wanted to add - the rewards are kind of cool at first when you're getting the leads / maybe finishing your overland stickerbook / items from the rotating vendor. I'm talking more about long-term - imo it's content that was intended to keep people coming back, but the rewards just aren't there after you get the initial shinies.].

I don't remember what else. But I and most people I know are rather bored of it already.

The main problem for me at least is that every run ends due to lack of time because I'm not going to spend half the day sitting in front of the computer playing a game without significant breaks - so I will never be able to reach a higher arc and test how far I can go. That above all else killed most of my interest. And repeating the first couple arcs over and over again forever isn't interesting.

It was fun but I've stopped doing it. I don't feel I want to devote time to it unless we get a save function.

I hit it pretty hard for about the first month, making a point to do the daily each day to work toward the mount and amassing leads and achievements. But once I had all of the achievements aside from the ones that require collecting doodads, and I had one Arc 9 duo run that I knew I'd never get near again, I got out of the habit and kind of forgot it existed. I should probably be more attentive about checking in on the weekly vendor for stuff that's worth spending my fortunes on, and I think I need around 8-10 more dailies to get the mount, but at this point I figure I'll wait for the style pages to come out so I get more of a return on my time investment.

It's... okay, in terms of fun factor, but it does feel grindy when the shine has worn off, and then it becomes mostly about working toward the rewards you care about. I don't expect to ever use any of the gear, and my remaining doodad rewards are mostly an unpredictable trickle, so my reasons for caring have kinda dwindled.

A positive thing is that apparently they did a good job for beginners and midgame players talking with people around but personally it was fun for just awhile, still feels like it's in beta and not an actual baked out content. Don't have much time either so need to choose activities that I can safely disengage from quick probably slaying my fun there also.

Overland difficulty scaling is desperately needed. 9 years. 6 paid expansions. 24 DLCs. 40 game changing updates including One Tamriel, an overhaul of the game including a permanent CP160 gear cap and ridiculous power creep thereafter. I'm sick and tired of hearing about Cadwell Silver & Gold as a "you think you do but you don't" - tier deflection to any criticism regarding the lack of overland difficulty in the game. I'm bored of dungeons, I'm bored of trials; make a personal difficulty slider for overland. It's not that hard.

I ran it for a while, mostly for stickerbook collection. But the three sets I was actually interested in aren't working as intended, and devs haven't even responded that they are aware of them, let alone plan to fix them, so I basically stopped caring. I run it now and then if there's a mythic lead for sale I don't have yet, but that's about it.

i still greatly enjoy it, but i dont run it as much because theres nothing really for me to get from it except more currency (until the next update)

i also would say i dont usually push further past arc 4 much anymore due to the time it takes, while an arc 4 run is usually 2 hours or less

Same here, I've never gotten much past Arc 4 due to the time it takes. Would be nice if there was a save option every two arcs or something like that. a while back I made it past Arc four with zero deaths and ran into a boss bug and died all four times sadly.

the furthest ive ever made it was the start of arc 10 lol

those runs typically take about 5-6 hours though, while i dont mind the time as much, it can become a significant slog past arc 6 if you dont get a lot of the good offense visions (focused efforts, attuned enchantments, set visions)

usually in order to get past arc 6 recommend at least 1 player be a full tank past arc 3 or 4 because stuff starts to really hurt for a pure dps spec

Without save points it went from new and different to grinding like an old 8 bit side scroller very quickly. To the point it takes 30-40 minutes to get to the 3rd round. And as others have said, all for weak sets and rewards. Not worth the time.

When it first came out I spent a LOT of time in there before realising most the class sets are actually rather meh. Haven't gone back in months but it was entertaining when I "thought" I was acheiving something.

I'm very neutral on it. For me, part of the issue is I have neither the patience or the build set-up to even get through the first arc, so I can't even get the daily quests done. So after spending a few weeks in there I felt there was no point in continuing.

I think it needs three things:
    - First arc needs to be easier for those of us that are too old or don't have the skills (I'm both).
    - There should be an option to start at later arcs, for the IA gods among us.
    - Saving progress would be a nice-to-have.

if you have a tank companion, arc 1 should be easily doable (outside of a very few select boss fights that will still murder the companion due to mechanics)

the tho'at at the end of arc 1 can effectively be solo'd by a companion, thats how little dmg they take now from that fight (and the companion basically just absorbs focus from all of the eye beams), almost turns tho'at into a parse dummy to be honest

most of the likely candidate bosses that could kill the companion would all be cycle 4 bosses (the endling, rakkat, yolnakriin, zhajassa, lady thorn)

Yesterday and today did my first 2 runs in IA with a DK tank. As he had already the skills.

As base used Xynodes IA Immortal Warrior build, skills, CPs and sets. Explosive + Leeching + Grothgar.

However on the first run, until quest was completed, found the DPS really low, the heavy attack barely triggered the Explosive in 1/4 of the times with the 1h sword. Even if the target was glowing and did multiple full HA with the sword. Overall while fun was tedious especially in trash fights.

So I thought, lets craft a heavy Ashen Grip to replace the Explosive set and went to do another run in IA today.
The whole build came alive. Everything was burning all around, Ashen Grip AOE procs fires every 4 seconds which stack with all other fires and abilities going on and suddenly 3 hours had passed non stop. If I didn't have some phone calls to make, probably would be going still for hours.

Since I play Khajiit, the build needs more Magicka, so going to replace the small armour pieces with Divines instead of Sturdy as Stamina is not an issue. High Elf, Breton, Dark Elf and Imperial (low cost) would work without further tweaking with this build imho.
Of the 20 or so bosses, the only one that gave me trouble, and was careful on Magma-tripot rotation, was The Sentinel and was actually the 2nd boss. Nobody else caused trouble.

I can't get past Arc 2 and I find the rewards lacking, so the only time I go in is if there's a reasonable endeavor attached to it.

Even if I could beat Arc 2 Tho'at, I wouldn't be physically capable of proceeding further due to RSI injuries. As it is, I often have to quit before I've run out of threads.

    Overall, I guess that's a Nay.

Entered there for the first time 2 days ago.

Managed to get to 2-5-3 in my warden with a DPS Isobel.

Overall I love it, nice pacing, interesting fight adaptations. And the Tho’at mechanic shifts each Arc kept me on my toes.

Overall the team did good with this one.
    PvP needs more love.
