Question for ZOS regarding tanking, Tormentor, and Vateshran S&B

As per the title, if ZOS does not want aoe taunts to be a thing, such that a niche 5-piece set like Tormentor is effectively being removed, what about the 2-piece S&B set from Vateshran?

I like tanking bosses but find grouping/ controlling adds a pain (kudos to you tanks that make it look easy!) and have been recommended to get the Vateshran S&B. I know sets can always be changed adjusted, but considering the direction with Tormentor, I’m concerned that Vateshran S&B will be on the block next, and would save myself the aggravation of acquiring it if that is the case.

Vateshran S&B is not an AOE taunt, it an AOE pull. Much like Dark Convergence and Rush of Agony in PVP. Its also really only effective on pulling trash packs, so I wouldn't worry too much.

Vateshran is technically a CC, a pull. It's not a taunt, so it still falls in line with the "no AoE taunt philosophy"

Also it's unusable for templar's because you don't have an immobilize skill after pulling in the adds

Does Vat SnB not still soft taunt ? i honestly cant keep up with so many changes.

If by "soft taunt" you mean they could focus on player that attacks first, not really. The one that gets bashed sticks around, but the others scatter if you don't hit them with an AOE CC

I don't think it is that they don't want it to be a thing. It is because it will now be gated behind the next paywall instead of on a base game set....

Not having an aoe taunt was the reason given in the patch notes for the coming change to Tormentor. I haven’t heard the new dungeons would have an aoe taunt set so I’m not sure what you mean.

i think pulls only apply the taunt if specified

for example, the swarm mother monster set specifically says applies taunt if the target does not have taunt already (as it is a single target pull proc)

rush of agony for example, does not state it applies taunt at all, same goes with dark convergence and void bash (vateshran 1h/shield), which are aoe pulls

so these still follow the single target taunt policy
