Would you mind sharing the experience?

As a console player myself, I've often contemplated the grass on PC. Is it greener now that you've had a chance to check it out?
Are you happy with the switch? Pros, cons?

Obv. one of the biggest concerns is losing 10yrs of accumulated "fluff" and goodies on the account. - but if the loss is offset by goodness, it's something I'm considering.
CP2900 +9800 hrs spent in BGs. US PS5 - 12 PVP Tanks - toons named variations of "Combat Medic" I like long walks on the beach. What's PVE? https://www.youtube.com/brakkish

You can keep both accounts and play them both once in a while.
Back in the day I went the other way from PC to console but I still maintain and play on my PC account.

I used to play on console and it was a tough decision letting go of all my progress and purchases, but the lack of addons is what made me switch. The game is so much better with addons that I don't regret starting over on PC at all. I do still play with a controller because I couldn't get used to playing with mouse and keyboard or using the default UI.

Also, I don't know what the economy is like on consoles anymore, but on PC everything seems to be hyperinflated now. So be prepared to hustle for gold. If that even matters to you.

I only let go of a few years of progress on console, so it might be a tougher switch for you having spent 10 years on the platform. If only they offered to transfer accounts between platforms. I would have loved to have that option.

Edit: I just saw your signature so just wanted to add that I really don't know if PvP would be any better for you on PC than console.

I quit ESO on PS4 four years ago. Level capped account (CP 810) with multiple level 50 characters. I was incredibly frustrated with performance in Cyrodiil when I quit (it was a slideshow, <15 fps during any large battles) and I was fed up with having to wait for weeks for patches to game-breaking bugs that PC players got immediately. I didn’t think I’d ever return to ESO, but on a whim, I decided to start over on PC back in October after getting the ol’ MMO itch. I dusted off my old beta PC account, started off with <160 CP and only one level 50 character.

Four months later, I’m CP 950, have all the gear I want, and have seven characters at max level. Maxed Undaunted on all of them. Best of all? Consistent 100 FPS in Cyrodiil, outside of faction-stacked fights at prime time (when it dips down to 30-50 FPS). You couldn’t pay me enough to go back to PS4. Inventory addons mean I don’t have to feel like I need to sub to ESO+. Gear swap addons are amazing. UI addons are amazing. I just could never go back, even though I have a ton of crown store stuff on my PS4 account. So happy I returned to the game, having a blast.

Go for it! You can still play with controller if you prefer (I do, and don’t feel at a disadvantage). If you start over on PC NA, I can help you with crafting research items. I’m alllllmost a master crafter again, just need to research a few more items.

A lot of good things on pc such as add ons, interface, and better appearing graphic but I miss the Xbox community.

Pc community is more serious, calm and quiet. Quiet to the point that at times it feels like playing with bots. Xbox community was always more social and silly acting. It was also nice to be able to just talk with people without dealing with Discord.

The biggest incentive for me was financial. Having to pay an additional fee on console to play the game is ridiculous. I wasn't going to keep spending an extra $15 a month for Xbox to let me play a game I bought.

Second biggest was playing alongside my wife, which spurred my jump in the first place as she wanted to play with me and getting a second console and paying another monthly fee for internet access was a bridge too far vs just buying the game on PC and playing it.

Beyond that, the jump itself was fine. I spent a long time chasing the ghost of my former account, trying to get everything I had back. It led to some burnout. I made new friends and joined some awesome guilds, which helped me get over not being able to game with the friends I had made on console anymore.

The add ons are a nice bonus but can make the game a little less fun than it was before, if that makes sense.

I've also been told that I'm better at combat than most because we have to learn mechanics and such without the benefit of add ons. You may find yourself in high demand in content simply because of familiarity and competency, especially early on in the switch.

PVP is serious business on PC, despite the forums making it seem like a dead zone. There's almost always a big fight happening somewhere, even when events aren't active. I've had to retire due to my bad arthritis, but the scene is very much alive and kicking.
