Warden DPS

zombievalen
Please, I want Warden DPS to go from being a crafting class to being at least on an average list in VETHM. How is it possible that there are none in ESOLOGS?
What happened to "play as you want", nobody accepts a DPS guardian because they are healers and do not contribute anything to the organized group...
Could spellcrafting make all classes desirable by adding skills with group advantages made with any class?

Regards

Yes, Warden has a passive that increases the damage of the chilled status effect, so it’s safe to assume that when we have the ability to add more Frost-based skills, Warden will begin to reach comparable numbers.

But beyond the damage, I was referring to the group usefulness, that it contributes something to the group other than a warden heal.

The reason so many Warden DDs fell off, was because of that change to their passives, where you only get 2% increased damage without an Ice Staff combined with the fact that the very year that change happened there was a bug completely preventing DD Warden from participating in the latest trial.

On the last boss of Dreadsail Reef, “Tideborn Teleria” Shalks would refuse to hit the boss, so without their burst skill, and being already rather low on the single target damage charts, it made sense why people vaulted their Wardens.

I’m sure that when Scribing hits, the class will be in a great spot, just like when Endless Archive was released and there were Visions that boosted Status Effects.

As far as group usefulness, having Wardens back in group means that Brittle will have a much better/easier up-time.

Wouldn’t exactly be surprised if the Winter’s Embrace class sets gives us Major Brittle.

Mag warden DPS is completely fine. It’s just that we don’t have unique group buffs as there’s a warden healer and arcanists. I parse middle or top 5 on warden compared to other group members most of the time. You’re not gonna see us in the top list on eso logs because it’s an arc stacking meta, but we definitely exist in HMs.

Edit: so I went and looked, there’s wardens in public logs/leaderboards on all HMs except lacking in DSR, RG, and SE. It’s no coincidence that’s the case since those are the current hardest HMs. Arc is just the best for DSR and RG with the amount of cleave necessary and the tight DPS checks. SE I’m not sure, I run arc by default since it’s new but I found it kind of annoying so I might bring warden next time. Last boss the arc cleave could be helpful for though.

Maybe I’m hardcore coping but I think it’s less that warden is dead and more that arc is the meta and meta is needed for certain HMs because of the DPS checks. I’ve never been excluded for bringing warden. People just prefer the arc.

"Warden DPS" is just kind of an oxymoron at this point.

I would love for being able to play as a primarily cryomancer dps warden to be on a level with other dps options and I’m glad for the changes made so far. Frost reach feels and looks good to me as a spammable. It makes me want to play my warden more.

Yes, but no one uses it in organized trials. For the benefits provided by the healer and for the delay of the shalks.
Es known to be an "crafter class" or main healer class only unfortunately.
    It is a fact.

Warden is very strong in pvp right now, so probably no buffs without it breaking pvp more. I'd also like to see werewolf dps viable again, and necromancer dps without crutching on one dlc dungeon proc set (elemental catalyst) to be relevant.

Warden needs to have a good spot for DPS. The iconic hunter class that shines in all successful MMOs is absent here. In WoW it is one of the most played classes, here only healers use it, really each class needs to bring something desirable to the test so that there is variety of classes. Today's groups carry arcanists and DK. The truth is tiring.

Simple fix: Revert all the incredibly stupid changes to Advanced Species, return it to a flat % damage gain for each AC ability, but like the mythic necklace, have it only apply to monsters.

    Done.

They still don't understand the game. They made an "unexpected" change to the necro to play mele (the skill with the most damage). The Warden's damage was increased by the Chill effect. He seems good but what the warden needs is to be desirable on a roster. Each DPS Class needs to have a unique buff so that it is necessary to have all the classes on the roster.
As always, organized groups will already have their healing guardian and the DPS will be easily replaceable.
My biggest question is whether the developers play endgame or just do dungeons with companions.

Based on their comments where they admitted to balancing skills on a spreadsheet, I wonder if they play the game at all.

i think it was completely silly to change a raw % damage passive no-one complained about existing into a capped crit damage one when the class has 0 crit chance bonuses.
