So out of curiosity i went through all the major/minor buffs/debuffs every class has access to, and this is what i found. Sorc has 14. DK has 17. Templar has 17. Arcanist has 18. Warden has 22. Nightblade has a whopping 25. And necro has an abysmal 9. Just 9. And one of those 9 is empower, useless in pvp. Does anyone see a problem here?

Holy mother of god. I came here to protest against the necromancer updates and lack of major buffs but ... things are worse than I thought. How can a game designer not count these while balancing classes... wow.

Yup, this class is a mess. There's a reason why almost every pvp streamer refuses to even play it, even if you offer to pay them :#

Eso necromancer is just a meme, and you get clowned on for playing it, it's not even fun for me anymore ever since they deleted harmony, nerfed the graverobber synergy, and gave nothing in return. If class change tokens existed I'd pay $100 if it meant getting off this GARBAGE joke of a paid class.

Yeah at this point I’d happily pay that as well

I detest the skill change from a purely PvE perspective. It's the only class that I've used for 3 years straight. It's my favorite class because of the way it plays.

    1. They have in game stistics, and based on that know that necro isnt most popular class, so it can be dismissed esaly;
    2. And also HA lightning staff builds is a most popular.

Imo, they added 2+2 together and got a brilliant idea to rework blastbones so it will be more efficient on lower skill requirment builds, which is a good call overall, just poorly executed.

Based on a stastistic you see no more then one EC necro in high end pve, no more then 1 necro tank/support/rarely dd on dungeon groups, barely any necros in pvp, and if there are, they usually a new player or some stubborn guy like me who wont let go of the class.

If devs where tasked by they superiors to make this class more popular, their targeted audiance obviously would be players that dont have the class yet, so they would profit from class sells. And obviously you have to make it viable to run on most new player friendly build - whitch is oaken+lightning staff.

And if i was a part of a brainstorm, to suggest the change to blastbones specificly, because its the ability that even on one bar build wont let you finish off your heavy attack before it becomes clickable again, i guess i would hear suggestions like:

1.Slow down blasbones so fits inbetween ha+1spell cast - which is terrible, its a slow ability to begin with.
2.Make doublehit like curse and sub-assault, which would be more cluncky, because ability becomes inactive and cant be recast, also where would second skeleton spawn, next to player or where last one died, its wierd all around.
Its clear that bb cannot stay the same, so:
3.Rework into something else entirly [we are here now]. And then i guess they went a route of least effort, reusing original animation, adding boring selfbuff without any further interaction, and secondary effect that already exist in the game. Idk its just lazy, and boring.

And if they keep bb, and changed blighted, bb rotation still will be superior, which will put oaken builds with a new skill in a worse spot still.
So its obvius they have keep a weaker version in the game to rise the skill floor and lower celling. For a mediocre class, that still perfomes worse then any other class in pve, and used there only as EC machine, and worse in pvp to the point where any build that you can put on necro will be better on any other class.

True but also depends. Magsorc for a long time was king of the mountain or at least the Prince of the Classes and did have a bit of a run at the bottom lately but then got a huge overhaul which might get them close to the top again.

So many of us have given zenimax suggestions about things that could help necro, and it seems like you've done the exact opposite. More buffs was a big one, like mainly getting sorcery or savegery on a skill we already had. Tethers not breaking when you hit a rock or tree would be nice. Skills to not be so glitchy. Corpses to not be so glitchy. Could have just let us use a skill on the corpse and then have the ability stick to the necro. BB working right, scythe getting a buff, the skull getting a buff. Maybe a passive minor group buff that we never got for whatever reason even though every other class does. Idk i could think of many things, many skills that dont work right, many issues it has.

So Imagine the surprise of so many people who love the class reading that you plan on removing the only real damage skill we have. Right, so im going to use this new skill and get a buff for what, boneyard? Which you gutted. Or the tether? That breaks on even the smallest line of sight. Its not the answer.

And some how, some way, you see fit to give nightblade more damage? More damage? Wow. I mean id like to say none of us saw this coming, but if you asked me what is most likely to come in new patch notes i would say nightblade buffs, nothing of substance for pvp, and nothing good for necro. So i guess this just falls in line with my expectations.

I have seen several necro posts during the last 2 years, lots of good suggestions. Oh well

im now 100% convinced zos is completely ignoring the feedback of players, specifically players that care about necro and play it.

Sacrificial Bones: This ability and the Grave Lord’s Sacrifice morph now increases your damage done with class abilities and Damage over Time effects, rather than only Grave Lord abilities and Damage over Time effects.

While this won’t influence too many extra abilities, it should help reward some more niche interaction without any harm.

Huh, without any harm? Im confused what they mean by that. What is the harm you are concerned about? That the class would have too much damage? Well let me ease your concerns, it has no damage. Its hard stuck in the gutter. But hey, just keep throwing random % damage bonuses to nightblade, we can do that without any harm.
We’ve seen a lot of great feedback for the new functionality these abilities have gone through, highlighting both the good and bad that the rework provided. Things are on the right track but we’ve seen many of the short comings that came with the initial proposals. The main areas we’re hoping to improve on with this pass are the following:

Your Area of Effect damage capabilities when not taking the Blighted morph, as sacrificing the explosive lad led to a large loss

The disruption to the natural flow of corpse generation and consumption, as having all of your corpses spawn around you as the caster led to a highly restrictive playstyle that forced you into melee, while making tethers far more cumbersome to use than intended

The above adjustments should help alleviate some of the issues the rework imposed, while still offering relatively familiar advantages and experiences to the original ability, but with a simpler to use and build around rotation. We’ll continue to keep an eye on this ability and its morphs as the year progresses and data comes in; we’re aware that the ability likely still hasn’t hit its perfect mark just yet, but we’re hopeful that it’s still an improvement for a large amount of players who were previously put off by how demanding the class was.

If you know how terrible the idea of using corpses is, why do you not just fix it? Its so simple. If a player uses a tether on a corpse, let the tether stick to the player. That way we still use the stupid constraining corpse, and actually get to utilize the ability instead of the corpse disappearing or the tether breaking on a twig.

And why are you guys so hyper focused on blast bones, or more specifically sacrificial bones? You want feedback? Drop this skill. Make tethers consume corpses to stick to the player. Make them an aoe around the player. Then give the class some real buffs/debuffs. And maybe adjust a couple skills. Its literally that simple. If you made these changes in a PTS cycle we would have plenty of time to test and adjust them. But no, you give us sacrificial bones, lol.

I mean honestly, how can you say you're going to "keep an eye on the skill as the year progresses" when this class is missing so much? It just honestly comes of as so out of touch, and it also comes off like none of the developers have actually got on a necro in a long time. Especially in pvp.

Where is the nerf? NB had 5 moves worked on and gained
    • 10% damage buff and 50% duration increase for Incap
    • When Soul Harvest is slotted on either bar gain ult when and you kill an enemy
    • Concealed Weapon got a 10% damage increase and an unnamed 10% damage buff for 15 seconds so it can stack with Major Berserk instead of granting it. Also giving Minor Expedition on both bars while slotted.
    • Instead of guaranteed Overcharged status from Debilitate it has a 15% chance to land, but does 106% more damage. (Is this the nerf?)
    • Siphoning strikes doesn't need to be cast to gain health and works on both bars, and now if you cast it, you get magicka and stamina back at the cost of hp. One morph gives you a chance to avoid the hp cost while the other greatly improves sustain.

If Necromancer got changes like this I'd reactive my ESO+ for the first time since 2022 and pre-order the chapter for my partner and myself soon as it hit live. Instead I'm waiting to see if my magcro main will be worth playing before I'll even consider buying the new chapter. Yes NBs suffer in PvE, but they're top tier in PvP. Necro is the lowest tier in both PvE and PvP to fix this we got the move that did 25-30% of our damage removed and one passive's crit chance improved by 2%.

They should be glad they don't have to worry about getting hit by a Night Blade out of cloak then.

Every time I come here, I'm overwhelmed with sadness. It's crucial for you all to recognize and embrace the reality that "they" no longer care about our opinions or preferences. We've become insignificant. The neglect towards the necromancer class is evident, and they seem determined to eradicate it completely. It's time to move on, folks. They won't revive the necromancer, won't address its issues, and won't make the changes most players desire. They turn a deaf ear to our feedback and simply disregard our concerns. ZoS has their own agenda, and they'll pursue it regardless of our input. There's nothing any of us can do to alter their course.

The week 4 pts change just feels like a slap to the face tbh. Instead of taking player feedback and actually buffing the new skill they've somehow made the underwhelming SacBones even worse.

At this point it feels like ZOS are just having a laugh at necro players' expense. I think it would be even funnier if every single necro main cancelled their ESO+ subscription and quit the game entirely. That would be a right laugh.

Consider why so many mages become Necromancers, the harsh reality is because it is easy, it is a path for mages who struggled to perform even basic sorcerer spells.

Consider this, Mannimarco was a Psijic but turned to Necromancy, the Psijics have time manipulation powers which would be a FAR greater power then mere Necromancy and yet Mannimarco does not use any time manipulation powers.
