I can't speak for other platforms but my God I have never seen so many of one class being played before in this game. The waves of pure warden groups is shocking and disappointing as well. Now that Microsoft owns this company perhaps the new management will address this issue and fix it, seriously are we all just to play wardens now???

    Waves of high health wardens
    Waves of prancing proc sorcs
    Waves of unkillable DKs
Waves of Maarselok, master DW, Vateshran
    Waves of…….

You could continue for a while: a lot of players tend to move to whichever class and meta dominates

I get armor sets being hugely popular, but when the game is dominated by one class??.that's just bad, that's why the Templar was beaten up on so much by developers over the years.

Lame was hell when entire groups running around now look like synchronized swimmers all spamming the same abilities at the same time in the same order.

Come on Microsoft, do something about the ZOS team.

Bro.. dis why you have to have one of every class. So when the nerf wave eventually comes around to your toon; you ride it with something else. Win.

    It's cyclical.

I don't know if I can agree to this post, lol, everyone I run into is on the meta "tanky arcanist tower/tree *** with 0 damage" builds. It looks so boring honestly

Warden spent more than a year as a z-tier PvP class until a few welcome skill tweaks elevated it to par with DK (which also prevails)

Im on PS NA and every so often my guild will run a group of all Wardens, or all DK with Ferocious Leap, just for fun. You might be running into something like this that gives the impression of a lot of wardens playing.

Classes with easiest defenses will always be popular. Giving either health scaling crossheal with HoT or passive AoE stun to a burst heal ability was a horrible balance decision on ZoS's side that people are abusing right now. That combined with lots of HoT healing and easy acces to major mending makes warden pretty easy to survive while class also can punch some burst dmg.

People start leaving DK not because they got bored but more because after recent nerfs, DK is no longer the powerhouse it used to be. Especially changes in U40 weakened the class. It is still strong class but not as easy to survive as it used to be.

Ah, good to know. I don’t play a DK, and did not follow those changes closely. I have noticed there are less of them. But still plenty.

Please elaborate on these amazing warden builds....armor, spells used, etc? I rarely see wardens and the ones I do see get nuked.

Wardens make great DDs, Tanks, or Healers!

I can speak to the Healer/Tank piece (I no longer play DDs).

    Nord
HVY Armor - Mara's body, Buffer of the Swift weps and jewelry, 2 seperate monster pieces (any combination of 4% healing done, eathgore head/sentinel shoulder for example)
    All sturdy armor
Jewelry infused. (I run block reduction a lot, but sometimes switch to a couple Mag recovery glyphs if I feel like healing for awhile)
    Weps, powered.
    All points into health.
    Ritual Mundus
Should be able to discern skills from the vid.

It's that easy - the rest is all player (you).

I guess I don't understand the appeal of this play style. It seems like it would be incredibly boring IMO. It's cool not to die much I guess but isn't the point of PVP the rewards which means you have to kill as many people as possible to earn AP? I assume these wardens don't kill too many people if they're playing all defensive...

It's getting out of hand lately. 74k HP healbot that can literally heal someone from 0 to full with 1 click and that have HoT on polar wind which heals for more than dmg of spammable abilities. What a fun match odo8k4t7r8zh.png

lotta ubertanky builds getting kills spammy dizzy n executioner, when lag n desync are bad, which is often

wardens easy to make tanky healy, so u build one n spam away

what’s fun on warden is trying to use its class offensive skills in pvp, cliff racers and deep fissure, you gotta invest in at least one offensive set and give up the 45k health polar wind spam to be able to do any damage (no masters dw vatesh maars cheese obviously)

deep fissure is slow (3 sec, 9 sec) challenging to land against good players, and does less dmg than an nb instant casting concealed weapon

cliff racers are slow piles of animation flap

but when you can make this build work you feel like youve accomplished something

    i dont reccomend it

Imperial race, 64 points into health, Plague Doctor set, a second set with a line of Health, Gaze of Sithis mythic, all health Enchants, Healthy traits on Jewelry, Warden ‘Maturation’ passive, ‘Undaunted Mettle’ Passive will get you there, or at least close. Don’t expect to do any damage, though.

The real terrifying part about that 74k HP Warden is that it was in a Battleground where CP are disabled. In a place with CP enabled, that Warden would have even more HP with Boundless Vitality and Hero’s Vigor CP.

The real terryfying part is that this warden can just go with max HP+mag regen food and 3x mag regen glyphs while having a burst self+crossheal with HoT attached to it all scaling from his max HP.

And that’s the main, huge issue with the current meta. Make a few tweaks to the build and you have the typical high health warden with procs generating a ton of free damage!!

Oh, I know. 74k HP is absolutely unnecessary and a troll build. You can get away with 40k HP and throw on some proc sets. Lord knows I have with both Mag and Stam Warden. It’s almost easy mode in BGs.

    they are skilled.

I repeatedly encounter the kind of tanky nb whose punches are as weak as mine but consistently do twice the damage in duel situations. They can just keep hitting me until I bleed to death - I'm not even CC'ed, not like against arcanists.
