I've just handed in a master writ for tayloring but got just the simple single number of writ vouchers from Rols (uneven number, so no hidden doubleing of number in writ description). A guild mate tested it with the same result.
This is sad because I do not have that much gold enhancement mats to do so many master writs.

They already stated ... somewhere ... that it only applies to new writs that drop during the event.

ZOS hasn't given any details about the event yet. They're still working on the article...

Ok thanks! I recommend to highlight such things on the event announcements on the launcher and or ingame as not all are regularly reading some hidden dev messages.

I have just got a Gold Master Writ. Crafted the item and turned the quest. No double vouchers received. it's bugged or the double voucher is applied at the moment to generate the number of vouchers the writ will have? I have wasted lots of jewelry mats for just 269 vouchers (should have been 538 on quest completion).

So the master writs are dropping with double writ vouchers during the event. You will not get double vouchers again when you turn them in, that would make it quadruple vouchers.

People have been reporting odd numbers on the voucher reward totals though, which I find…worrying.

It is quite likely that the writs can be generated with something like 7.5 writ vouchers as reward, which normally gets either rounded or truncated to 7 or 8. But, if they get multiplied by 2 like on this event, that will be 15 vouchers.

I am not so tech savvy but surely when they set the parameters for the rng, they can ensure that it will only return integers? As such there should neither be decimals nor the need to round them up or down? Or maybe I am missing something obvious with the nature of random number generation.
Any how's I think ZOS tried to do a nice thing (and it still is a nice thing) with a wee surprise event for all the crafters out there. It's just a shame it has gone a wee bit pear shaped with the transmute situation and wording around the awarding of double writ vouchers.

I'd say writ has a random range of values it can give, i.e. this trait+style+quality can award say 6 or 7, and this logic gets applied twice, first you roll 6, then 7 and final value is sum of the two.
Double resource yield work in similar way, you don't get straight x2 resources, you pick same node twice and get two individual rolls on what contents were.
