why..? this makes it so much more frustrating, inventory cluttering and annoying to gather sets to test setups/changes etc. Is there an official reasoning for this? its just such a weird change. it's already a super laggy environment with tons of bugs and no real incentive to play on, I personally won't be testing stuff on pts probably if i have to sift through the genius system of boxes in boxes in boxes in boxes (its funny for 1 time not for years) Recontstructing gear was way simpler.

Veteran players have been alienated and disengaged from Overland since One Tamriel, due to the lack of difficulty, and pushed into dungeons and trials; the minority of content in the Elder Scrolls Online. We can't take the repetition anymore, fix Overland engagement for Vet players. I don't even care if it's not combat related anymore, just make Overland engaging again.

Overland difficulty scaling is desperately needed. 10 years. 6 paid expansions. 25 DLCs. 41 game changing updates including One Tamriel, an overhaul of the game including a permanent CP160 gear cap and ridiculous power creep thereafter. I'm sick and tired of hearing about Cadwell Silver & Gold as a "you think you do but you don't" - tier deflection to any criticism regarding the lack of overland difficulty in the game. I'm bored of dungeons, I'm bored of trials; make a personal difficulty slider for overland. Make a self debuff mythic. Literally anything at this point.2 -

I agree I might stop testing things once it gets to EU character copy if we don't get some way of unlocking the collections without going through hundreds of boxes. Even if it has to be an item we use to unlock the collections like we have for other collections that would be better than this. If anything, the boxes should be removed. ✭✭✭✭✭I just had my round of unlocking everything, and that was unnecessarily irritating and took forever. I actually had to make a second template since I accidentally deleted the motifs on my first one while trying to juggle all the boxes in their inventory.
Please let us just go back to automatically unlocking all sets and styles in the collections menu rather than opening hundreds of tiered boxes with limited inventory space just to get a template set up.2 -

I have no idea why this change was implemented but it does add a rather frustrating layer of drudgery to the process of setting up template characters for testing.

Zastrix✭✭✭✭✭It'd be really cool if they just allowed us to use custom GM-level commands to spawn in items. Like how you can do `/give` in minecraft for get X item with Y durability and Z enchant, etc.
Just allow us to copy/paste it in and get a fully set of armor with the specific trait/quality.
Keep the lootboxes if it's done this way.

Nilandia✭✭✭This is indeed very inconvenient, not least of which because I usually have to reconstruct items anyway to get them in the traits I want. At least when I had them all in the stickerbook I could just spend transmutes instead of having to dig around in the dozens of nesting boxes.2 -

Why make it more difficult to test sets?
The boxes existed because it was the only way to get sets in the PTS.
You had a system which mostly eliminated the nesting doll rigamarole of gear hunting (Transmute station/Sticker book).
Now your forcing use to go back to the WORST way of acquiring sets in the PTS??
I mean you didn't give us complete master crater stations so we still had to dig though boxes AND transmute them.
Now we have to dig through boxes for EVERYTHING?

Ever since Necrom or so it does not seem we have what was called “feedback weeks” and now it’s harder or impossible to test sets and report potential bugs with them.1 -
FayJolyn✭✭✭✭One of the joys that I get out the PTS is having all the freedom to test out all the motifs dyes together with the stuff I already collected from crates from endeavor points. Having to manually relearn all those motifs takes forever and clogs up the inventory space that I want to use for sets that I actually want to test out. What exactly made the team make this change because testing just becomes more bothersome with it and I'm much less likely to just hop on the pts server as a result of it.Zha'ishii - Kahjiit nightblade (main) PC-EU1
