The Army of Meridia

So my friend has had this problem with the army of meridia quest. He completed the quest to rescue the king but it did not grey out on the quest objectives. We decided to keep going and just see if completing the other objectives would fix it but it did not. So now he has 2/3 of the quest objectives greyed out and completed but still hasnt gotten credit for rescuing the king and is unable to continue the quest with me. He has already sent in a ticket but I was wondering if anyone has experienced this same problem and has maybe figured out a way to work around it and or fix it.

Did he talk to the npc inside of the fighter's guild to introduce the old king?

I told him several times to go back to the fighters guild and talk to everyone but he said there wasn't anyone in there to talk to.

The same thing happened to me, I have the achievement for rescuing the king, but no quest update. I have yet to try deleting and getting the quest again, but I would hope it would auto update, since the only way to get the updates are the one time quests.

The exact thing has happened to me. I have the achievement. And the king is at the fighters guild. I have talked to everyone still at the guild and can't get the quest to update. Its blocking my progress of main quest which sucks. And I don't want to have to redo it. I miss the days when you could talk to ingame support. Also there is a quest way point to the west in a camp near a wayshrine. It a wisp of light. Which doesn't change no matter how many times I interact with it.
