The game has changed since this rule was implemented. Most sets in the game are procs - the fact that pets can't proc sets puts pet sorc and Necros at a severe disadvantage. There's no functional difference in damage ticks between a Familiar and an ability such as Flames of Oblivion. No reason the latter should be able to proc things when the former can't. No reason Blastbones should be barred from proccing things when Shalks can.

Edit: oh, and while we're at it, count pet damage and healing on the BG scoreboard. The fact it isn't already makes absolutely no sense.

I tend to agree. Pets have huge drawbacks, can be CC/killed, slow travel and reaction time, can, and hang up in environment). IMO,. They compensate for the extreme drawbacks.

the funny thing too is that most of the warden animal attacks (cliff racer, shalks, fetcher flies) are all actually considered pets in terms of the warden passives that trigger when an animal skill expires

the shalk skill for example gets buffed by the archive vision for +dmg to pets

i feel like its a huge detriment to running some of those pets if they cannot proc anything, but in the necromancer case the blastbones is strong enough its really difficult to not use it

Don't hold your breath. This is the same game that wrecked Plaguebreak because hitting a pet would proc the set, claiming it was unfair that a pet could be targeted and used in such a way. While doing nothing to fix wonky targeting that makes other attacks hit pets instead of the player.
