✭✭✭✭This looks like a gorget to me - a decorated metal plate worn high on the chest, suspended from cords tied behind the neck. IRL such things were worn as badges of office or rank in Western European cultures, mostly by the military in the horse and musket period. Not a musical instrument.

✭✭✭✭Has anyone remembered/considered Ithelia, the Prince of Paths may be referenced here in those glass shards? With memory of her restored to Torvesard and us, she's going to regain some semblance of existence.
What if she had a hand in Falinesti? Before Mora erased her from memory.
The whole piece is covered by small fracture lines. It looks like it has been shattered and then reconstructed. Like the whole of history has been shattered and we have to put it back together again.
I think we need to prepare to go to lots of different times and places that never happened, and somehow put history back on the right course. Meet earlier/different versions of familiar NPC's. Lots of wibly wobly, timey wimey stuff like that.
I also think the four trees and the surface they stand on may represent Nirn, and whole thing is heading for winter.

✭✭✭✭✭I was wondering if the stylized blue tree in the shard could possibly represent a hist tree. It seems to have an exaggerated base, or root system. We know the story of the Saliache elves as it relates to the Remnant of Argon. Could the southwest coast possibly be in Murkmire? There was also a deposed emperor (Kastav) who was exiled to Murkmire. Perhaps the ruins we are supposed to stay away from could be the Ayleid Nexus? It could definitely be connected to Fargrave via portal somehow. Not sure how it would tie in to the theorized Bosmer story, although anything's possible.
I know not everybody has access to Murkmire, although it was given away for free as a daily reward at one point. It wouldn't take much for them to make it a part of the base game, so everyone could have access to the prequel.... if that's where it could possibly start.
Murkmire is southeast and dlc.
The letter most likely is for the prologue quest so either refers to southwest coast of Greenshade or Auridon(maybe even Summerset if zos makes that free this year).

I am interested to see who's count of Skingrad. We all know that Janus Hassildor was a vampire, but in TES4 he says he was turned "more than 50 years ago." It'd be very awkward for him to be count here since that's now around 800 years previous.
I mean, yeah... "I was turned 800 years ago" is technically more than 50 years, but that's a really awkward way to say it. I do hope that Janus Hassildor is not count, and instead it ends up being a Hassildor ancestor.2 -
