You're looking for a straight answer for the events happened in non-linear time.
Also, there are plenty of in-game books about the event, why don't you give them a try and make of them what you can instead of asking random people?

Also, most people will tell you the wrong answer, thinking they are 100% correct. Trust me, this particular question was asked for more than 10 years, I know how those threads usually go. I know the reasonable answer, too, but instead of sharing I'm inviting you to go explore yourself.

Also, how Sotha Sil is different from the other two? He's hiding from his country and people with a bunch of fans, chooses to be 3 meters high but insists he doesn't encourage to call him a god. Almalexia is here for her people. Literally. You can briefly see it in TESO. Vivec, too. They all are controversial characters, that's what makes them great characters.

Also, who are you to judge them for killing 1 man (mer)? How many people have you killed during your characters adventures?

    Greetings,

After further review we have decided to move this thread to a category we think is more appropriate for this topic.

    Thank you for your understanding.

    Vivec achieved CHIM.

Than he retrospectively changed the past where they did not kill Nerevar and instead he died of wounds or poison...

So in the end they did and did not kill him at the same time...welcome to TES LORE

I've never heard of this. There are stories saying he died of wounds or poison, but I do not believe that Vivec changed the past. Not sure what he does with CHIM, but as far as I am aware you have to be careful with CHIM usage because if the Godhead wakes up reality ends.

There are different accounts and it's purposefully left open to interpretation, like most of the key events in the lore, but I get the impression that ALMSIVI generally carry guilt and self-judgment (it's especially evident with Sotha-Sil in the CWC/Summerset arc), so it makes you wonder if that's part of the reason.

What weights on a mortal mind is measured in years, yet on a god an eternity. The members of the tribunal could not have truly known what they would experience.

One mer who was a friend/husband/respected figure vs. hoards of people trying to kill us/destroy the world. It’s not the death so much as the betrayal - if Indoril Nerevar, who they respected, couldn’t trust them, then how could the average mer who doesn’t have that advantage?

Well I don’t know about Almalexia, but Vivec and Sotha Sil definitely do.
Vivec admits to the murder in a hidden message within his Sermons and of course Sotha Sil decided to become Dunmer, and has the Nerevar projection in his garden.

Totally this. It’s not so simple as a death, it’s betrayals within betrayals on betrayals, which is what makes Morrowind lore so great.
