Game still dislikes reasonable behavior

I came back to the game after over a year.

I was just shopping a guild trader and that got me booted from the server. Yeah, I was using an add-on and filtered for unknown styles, but really? Booted? Game logic still has serious flaws it seems.

I get randomly booted more often since U40. On console, so no add-ons.

Also, load screens take much, much longer since U40, and regularly get kicked after selecting character at load screen.

I think there's a lot of traffic on the servers this time of year. It will probably drop off after New Year.

The message said "booted from server" which meant I did something someone or some automated progress did not like.

Ah well, just stop participating in the economy works.

Sounds like the game's anti spam filter didn't like what your Addon was doing.

Same thing happens if you try to power level your Alchemy by creating a ton of potions in one batch.

I get “Booted from server” on Xbox when I’m literally doing nothing/walking around.

It’s a bug.

essentially, "too many messages to server, too fast", triggers it. so not just "an addon", but also, eg, "three addons, all doing a reasonable amount of messages individually, but all at once".

not to rule out bugs.

Error 318 can occur when there are issues with connectivity, such as lag or latency, sending too many messages in game in quick succession or due to an AddOn. Please see our FAQ below for more details.

I had narrowed the search to what I wanted. I know many things, so it had to go through a lot that didn't match.

This should be built into the game however, so even console players could benefit. That would eliminate the "load on the system due to addons". It is obvious to want to filter guild vendor searches for things we need.
