Is curated drops broken?

I just ran Falkreath Hold again, I was delighted to find I'd received the helm, the bracers, and the guards, then disappointed to see I'd already collected them. I thought the idea of curated drops was that you don't get offered items you have already collected or do I have it wrong?

Every boss has a limited set of gear they can drop. Mini bosses drop, I think, small pieces like gloves and shoes and so on. Bosses drop bigger items like chests and legs and so on. Final bosses drop weapons and jewelry. So if you have collected everything a particular boss can drop, you will get repeats. For the most part, body pieces are filled in quickly and then you have to run over and over again to get weapons/jewelry from final boss.

every boss has a loot table. some intermediate bosses drop certain body pieces, some drop others, last boss only weapons and jewels. curation only applies to a boss' loot table, not everything in the dungeon.

Do curated drops also work for overland sets?
I am farming war maiden set but keeps getting body pieces instead of weapons, I already completed the body parts still needs 2h weapons but it just will not drop.
Run all over vvarden fell this sat & sun but no 2h dops, treasure box, wb & public dungeons,

Curated drops SHOULD work for overland sets. Specifically, public dungeons and world bosses are the ones that should be able to drop weapons.

World bosses can ALSO drop heads, chests and legs as well as weapons. These should be curated: if you're getting heads, chests or legs instead of weapons, it should be heads, chests or legs that are not already in your sticker book.

Public Dungeon bosses can ALSO drop shoulders and gloves as well as weapons. These, too, should be curated.

Delve bosses can ONLY drop boots and belts.

Jewelry only drops from Dark Anchors or their equivalent. Incidentally, Vvardenfell has none of these: I am not sure whether this means that jewelry gets added to a different type of boss, or that it can only drop from Treasure Chests (which drop ALL types of loot, but NOT curated) or quest rewards.

Vvardenfell jewelry can only drop from chests and quest rewards. The rewards from the two unlockable daily quests in Ald'ruhn are a good source.

    HoF drops overland Vvardenfell jewelry?

I know AS drops Clockwork sets, but that always seemed to be the odd one out to me. I don’t recall getting Reaper’s March gear from MoL, or Skyrim gear from Kyne’s Aegis, etc. I also don’t recall seeing Craglorn overland sets in DSA or Wrothgar ones in Maelstrom.

Yes, chests can contain any piece from the overland sets-- BUT they aren't curated, otherwise collecting overland sets would be too easy-peasy.

The other one that I know of is that BRP drops Murkmire overland gear from the chests before the final boss.

I solo farmed Falkreath Hold to complete all the sets there. From my experience the curated drops only happen on the final boss. The only time I acquired pieces I didn't already have was on the final boss every single time.

As for War Maiden I completed that set and all the VVardenfell sets by farming the public dungeons and chests. It didn't take long to be honest. There are a few areas in one of the public dungeons where the bosses are very close to each other. Timing the killing of the bosses and getting it into a sequence works well. You kill one boss, run to the next, kill it and go back to the first boss. Make sure you bind the pieces you don't have unless you are farming a specific piece and want to get a lot of that item.

Until they change it so all bosses drop weapons or jewelry, you will only get curated drops from the last boss in a dungeon if you have already gotten the body pieces of all 3 sets of that dungeon.
Getting all 3 sets body pieces is quick and only takes 10 or so runs.
Getting all the weapons takes 40-50+ runs and is so unbelievably painful, frustrating, convoluted, and maddening. If I want a specific weapon from a dungeon, I absolutely despise and detest having to run it such a ridiculous number of times.
Many of us are busy adults with families and jobs and we don't want to have to spend 20 hours farming a dungeon to get 1 weapon for 1 character for a build.
I really really really hope that zos makes some changes to this aspect of curated gear.

Am I thankful for the stickerbook: absolutely.
Could curated drops be tweaked a bit to still force players to put forth effort, but not have to run a dungeon 40+ times: absolutely.

Well I've just done two more Falkreath Hold runs and didn't get a single piece of PoN, getting very tired of this, must have run it 30 times and only have half the gear.

if you start with 0 items collected, you need a maximum of about 45 runs to get 100% of the gear collected (it will usually take about 5-6 runs to get all the armor and then another 35 runs to get all the weapons)

occasionally chests and random mobs can drop set gear, but that is uncurated

you also want to make sure you are binding all of the gear you have not collected, to remove it as a future drop until you have everything

Run all over vvarden fell this sat & sun but no 2h dops, treasure box, wb & public dungeons,

overland gear is curated, but everything drops from specific sources (if a zone is missing a source then the gear is not curated unless the zone is selected as a weekly drop from the endless archive)

    for overland gear:

weapons: can come from public dungeon bosses or WBs
jewelry: comes from dolmen type activities (dolmens, harrowstorms, abyssal geysers, dragons)
    belts/boots: come from delve bosses
    head/chest/leg: comes from WBs
shoulder/glove: comes from public dungeon bosses

so in the example given, vvardenfell has no dolmen type activity, so there is no curated jewelry with the exception of if it appears in the endless archive as one of the weekly selected overland zones

wrothgar is also missing dolmen type activities
small zones such as hews bane, gold coast, murkmire, south elsweyr dont have public dungeons

murkmire gear can be sourced from the blackrose prison (jewelry is curated from the final boss loot, and you can get public dungeon boss gear (shouldr/glove) from the other 4 arena sections

clockwork city also is missing dolmen type activities, but the gear can be sourced from asylum sanctorum trial

since the endless archive was added, this selects 2 random zones per week (1 dlc and 1 non-dlc) which can help fill in curation gaps to overland gear

the worst zone for curation right now is cyrodiil, because the only curated gear that appears there is jewelry (dolmens) and the delve bosses (which actually count as public dungeon bosses in terms of drops, since they only drop shoulders/gloves), and i dont know if cyrodiil can show up as a non-dlc zone for endless archive
