I was dead. It thought I was alive. Helpful for my partner, BUT... and the health bar was slowly showing regen.

Your partner have to press the "rescue"-button.
In those mini games you are not dead as usual, you can be revived, when your partner is interacting with you.

Same as when being dead as goat or watcher. Your partner have to press X on you to revive you.
