  UESP has been oddly, er, hesitant to update some of their tables on what books are lootable from which sources. In particular, they only show one book lootable from Scriv Hall when there's at least a dozen. You can find a ton more books attributed to scrivner's hall at ESO Fashion https://eso.mmo-fashion.com/category/database/miscellaneous/furnishings/update/scribes-of-fate/
  
  If someone else has collected a book furnishing and has it on display in their house, you can skip the hunting-it-down eidetic memory step by just interacting with the furnishing. Note that reading shalidor's library books placed in houses will not give you Mage's Guild skill line progression.
  
  Eidetic memory recording is character-specific; it may be worth having a dedicated treasure-mapper, scriv-haller, bastion-nymicer etc who has read all the books on a respective drop-table.
  
  Certain books will spawn on podiums in the endless archive lobby after certain conditions are met; these books are on the muniment chest drop tables so it's worth checking on them from time to time.
  
  There are a few books that only appear in eidetic form in endless archive; I've found a few on the floor with no effects glow whatsoever, often cluttered with similar objects. So keep your eyes peeled.

I want all of the books, but my patience has run out with the absolutely horrendous implementation of all of the recent book furnishings. This game has so much to offer and I don't want to spend hundreds of hours grinding just for book furnishings. I've completed Bastian Nymic over 100 times and have only pulled a handful of book furnishings which includes duplicates, so I still haven't even completed that set yet.

i agree 100% The amount of books added is insane. Will try my luck in any of the zones some time probably. Ran Scriveners Hall and Bastion Nymic not hundreds but still a lot of times and havent pulled a single book so far, neither have seen any of my teammates getting one. Only item i got out of those so far, was the Hermaeus Mora Banner which is pretty rare i believe. But again, why in the f*ckin hell would the stones, and the door not be bound but the banners are??? Whyy?

Im most likely going to spend hundreds of hours farming Vvardenfell plants and Alinor Table Runners till the years completes and probably even longer now so it doesnt really makes a difference xD Im about 5000 plants and a lot of hours in atm, pulled only 4 out of all the 29 plants which are available and even only green ones so far. Atleast no dupilicates, but had them all ofc since green ones get sold every once in a while. There are several blue drops that have not been sold for atleast a year or 2. But atleast those are somewhat cool to get and really rare, other than just a book which most likely looks identical to the last one youve pulled ^^

Really a shame, those books are bound, i dont understand why Anyone sees a reason for it? Why not make the ones you can actually drop from chests not bound and the ones from the merchant bound? Would make soo much more sense. @ZOS_GinaBruno Might you discuss that with your team to be changed in the future? You are ruining the interest of those rare drops for us collectors otherwise.

Are those book furnishings from treasure chests confirmed?I just opened 53 chests in Gold Coast without finding a single book.

I’ve also just opened 50 chests in Hew’s Bane and not a single book.

Also, a very important thing to keep in mind for any other rare furnishing collectors out there is that a number of the rare plant drops can also be obtained in an unbound state from purchasing some unfurnished homes with gold. I am always cross-referencing my lootable list while shopping guild traders with my list of items from unfurnished homes, just to make sure there aren't multiple sources. Example: there is a big difference between the rarity of Plants, Lava Pitcher Shoots and Plants, Lava Pitcher Cluster, since the Cluster variant can be also obtained by purchasing with gold the Amaya Lake Lodge unfurnished besides being farmed from VVardenfell harvest nodes.

i havent anywhere found a source that confirms that Mushroom, Buttercake is a drop from Vvardenfell plants but it was sold yet so i supposed it has to drop there too
