ZOS it is time to bring back the mode selection.

Change the rewards, add for top 25 in each category 50 transmute crystals plus 500 tri-pots. This will keep the other queues busy for all people who does not want to play deathmatch. Because there is no real scoring system and what only matter is the time you play, even bad players can be in top 25 but if they are there it means that they will queue so the time should be low.

Please let the player do whatever they want. It is very frustrating now to play a mode where 1 or 2 of your teammates treat it is a deathmatch and they do not do objectives.

Just remove the allies heal from polar wind and we will be in a good place.

mode selection will further ruin the experience:

    1. only tanks and healers will cue for death-match who know how to play. the occasional noob will wonder in and get wrecked.
    2. the objective cue will be full of gankers preying on inexperienced people trying to get their bg achievements.

the only people who cue for option 2 will be toxic gankers and their prey.

the randomness keeps it equalized at least.

LOL i ve never seen more inaccurate answer.

All objective modes will be full with tank healers, why a ganker will want to go in that mode where it will be full with these builds? In these modes you do not have to kill the opponents, you just have to be able to survive.

In death match tank and healers cannot secure kills so they are useless or maybe you consider 2m damage brawlers as tanks?

Not a single player that knows what they're doing will bring a tank into death match.

Tanks are worthless in DM BGs. There's no objective to block, nothing to hog, and you accomplish nothing by standing there and holding block. Anyone with a brain will immediately ignore a block tank in a DM.

by tank, i mean “tanky” not literal tanks. it will attract those players who are often described as “unkillable” only.

no one will want to play in deathmatch, other than the 30 regulars who have cheese builds. the ones you see everyday in bg’s anyway!

if they segregate there will be no way to get bg achievements anymore because no one will cue for the obj ones. might as well delete the achievement for defeating 500 attacking opponents at your flags. i struggled to get that because the scene was already so dead when i started.

this will make a handful or hardcore battleground players happy, but the rest of the community will suffer.

Which is it? Only the 30 meta cheese builds will DM, or so many people will DM that you won't be able to get an OBJ game?

Don't get me wrong. I might've chosen my words differently but I agree with what I think your sentiment is. Battleground weekends have shown me that builds/games get cheesier when people know in advance what the mode will be.

Still... If the BG population were healthier, I would fully support splitting the ques. I do want the DM crowd to be happy. And I also want them to stop farming weak players in OBJ modes then complain that they lost because someone dared to do what they were supposed to do.

the 30 meta cheese builds will play deathmatch unless an unskilled noob wonders in. if they do, they won’t re-cue cause the skill and gear gap is off the charts.

no one will cue obj because no one cues period. when you do get an obj, a couple cheese builds show up… cause they would rather kill noobs than decent opponents. the only people at obj maps would be achievement chasers and gankers/cheesers.

there really just isn’t enough players in game to make bg’s enjoyable for any one it seems.

That is why i proposed better rewards for the leaderboards. Something that will attract players to do the other modes which involve less pvp. Let the PvP-ers play DM mode. Now you cannot run away these unkillable players but if they can chose the mode they will go in DM. Then you can freely play the objectives as much as you want. That will be a profit for the new and not experienced PvPers.

I will repeat, increase the rewards to these modes so they can attract players. DM will be chosen by who wants to PvP.

Jeez. Okay, I can't be on this side anymore, I'll just stay on my own side as usual.

I don't like OBJ modes because they're easier, the opponents are lesser, I need achievements, or I'm not good at PvP. I enjoy OBJ modes because they're fun and there's nothing wrong with having a little direction behind your killing.

You guys argue like defeated people. Just join the DM crowd and let someone with a little pride speak.

I do, but it is not the same. In IC i play solo so I can kill 1vs2 or 3. It is ok. But very rarely I can find good fights that are 3-4 vs 3-4. This is what is missing. The only way to find this is in BGs, in Cyro if you go with a group ussually will be 3-4 vs 10+. If I go with a group in IC then we will just stomp most of the players there. Rarely you can find 5-6 at once which can fight back.

the problem in all regards is low PvP population from years of neglect.

i have been trying to grind my AP rank, but i think it’s too late. there just aren’t enough players who know what they are doing. the population is a hand full of long time PvP whales and random PvE noobs who quickly get disenchanted.

i would probably play more BGs if the rewards werent awful

you get no AP for kills during a BG, only a pittance at the end depending on your teams position, even a #1 win being like 15k AP is still very bad, when you avg the match time + queue time, you will easily earn more AP in cyro

the only other real rewards that BG gives is some sets exclusive to BGs, but most of them arent great and dont sell well, so majority of it ends up as decon fodder

i do also have some more achievements left to get in BGs, but with the poor rewards and nonexistent MMR, its just not enjoyable (not to mention a lot of the achievements are for specific modes, so i cant even choose what mode im queueing for to try to work on achievements)

the only real ability to work toward achievements are the BG themed weekends.

otherwise there aren’t enough obj players to bother with. even if you do get the match style you want… you’ll only end up pulling your own hair out as no one else on your team will help you.

Chaosball mode, 2 teams try to play the mode and the third one makes easy kills. Where is the fun?

If ZoS does not want to separate the queues then the objective modes should be only with 2 teams.

    Reset "MMR" every patch

Use performance metrics to appraise MMR for each mode. Example: Kills raise your Death Match MMR, and objectives raise your objective MMR. If you DM in objective modes, you will raise your DM MMR faster and thus get into sweat hell faster.

Reward track. It's probably not patented, and it makes people want to play to win

Replace BG mode weekends with bonus reward weekends. One mode weekends are awful.

Does the "stream team" do any pvp stuff? How come the extremely dynamic and mechanical SMALL SCALE pvp this game has isn't more advertised? I came here from LoL and Dark Souls. What hooked me was the extreme depth of the player vs player combat when it isn't blob vs blob. In small scale, performance is at least as good as it is in Dark Souls 3 or Elden Ring.

    Reset "MMR" every patch

Full reset is very bad idea. It happened a few times and the first 15-25 games was slaughtering. 2-3 good players vs 9-10 not good in PvP. It is brutal, not fun for those who kill not fun for those who die.

the MMR needs to be reworked in some way

if the MMR is reset, then you have too many sweaty people mixed with casuals

if the MMR is not reset, then your character becomes unusable because of the ever increasing MMR which will force you to be matched against sweaty people (and the other way happens when a sweaty person rolls and alt character, they slaughter until they get enough medal score to get mixed back into the tryhard group)

it should be done similar to tribute where it has a "competitive" and "casual" queue, with the competitive mode having an MMR/leaderboard and the casual mode not having that

i dont know exactly how they would do that if they wanted to have both a group and solo queue for each mode, but this is the biggest problem i see playing BGs

i have some character which have played BG on and off since they released and it feels like 75% of the time i just get matched with sweaty unkillable people

I disagree completely. It's certainly not a worse idea than basing it off of lifetime medal score. It's not like a 1v11 is a common thing with the current system. The value of a reset depends on how quickly and accurately the players are stratified into their appropriate tiers. If it takes 5 games to get a baseline, that's extremely bearable.

If your medal score were given as bonus AP, and the medals correlate with proper game play, maybe it’ll help.

The medals are too low for nice AP boost, except you play 50k health warden in DM for big heals which add 100 points each.

there really just isn’t enough players in game to make bg’s enjoyable for any one it seems.

This is the problem. They can't do MMR because no one really ques for BG's now. If new players in my trade guild ask, I tell them not to go because it will most likely be a miserable experience. And when new people do go, they don't return.

Give us a rework. OMG can't you look at WOW's BG's? Just ONE OR TWO. Give us a 10v10 or 15v15 AB or WSG. I'm sick of 3 faction PVP. That's why I still play WOW some. I am so sick of NEVER getting to have an even group fight.

I figure the rewards in BG are intentionally sub par when compared to Cyrodiil because they don't want to pull players from Cyrodiil since it requires so many more active players to function interestingly. Granted i never find the place interesting because I spend way more time riding across bland fields than actually fighting. I like BGs because I get to stay in the action for the entire experience.

I personally enjoy the themed weekends because it lets you build to be optimal for that game type during that weekend, but doesn't linger on. If anything, I wish they'd just publish their gametype bonus weekend schedule so we could do more prep for gearing up for that weekend's type. Having some sort of Leaderboards associated with specifically that weekend would also be neat though. I'm aleays down for more transmutes 😁

On the off-weekends, I really like that they have only queuing for BGs without being able to select the game type because it helps prevent those super-optimized-for-one-gamemode builds from being annoyingly ever present. When the threat of being dumped into a Death Match or a Capture the Relic looms, you've got to build with versatility in mind that prevents those boring dominating builds from showing up every time.
