[Request] Let all characters do gendered dances

I wasn't sure where to put this request so I'm putting it here. Apologies if this isn't an acceptable place.

We currently have dance emotes which have different racial styles. Notably, a character of any race can dance in a particular racial style by specifying /danceargonian, /dancedunmer etc. Most of the racial dances have a 'masculine' and a 'feminine' version, some of which are strikingly different from each other. Unfortunately, your character can only perform the one that matches the body type you selected during character creation, and I see no reason for that to be the case. It should be easy to make e.g. /dancedunmerm and /dancedunmerf for the masculine and feminine version of the dances respectively and then have /dancedunmer default to your character's body type the same way that /dance already defaults to your character's race.

I know this is a fairly insignificant thing, but I think it would be an easy way to make trans and gender-nonconforming players feel happier and more included, and would be a neutral to positive thing for everybode else too. Masculine /danceargonian for everyone!

yea that'd be awesome. they could just be numbered like how the sit emotes are numbered

In the meantime, until they get around to lifting nonsensical gender restrictions like these, you can use the free skeleton polymorph to get male dances on female characters.

Quickslot it, use it, start the dance, and use the quickslot button to remove the polymorph.

Totally agree. Some of the male dances are just too iconic, like Khajiit and Redguard. Plus, it'd add more diversity to how people can dance. I use the polymorph workaround but there's no way to do the reverse (female dance on male character).

I don't know when they changed it, but there WERE gendered commands, and not too distant in the past.
I know for certain, because I used it myself, there used to be a /dancedunmerfemale command, but I just checked and it is no longer an option.
What I don't know for sure is if you used to be able to use the gendered commands with the opposite gender; I never tried that.

They already can, you just need the skeleton polymorph and a slot on the emote wheel.

well we can already do that by using a polymorph on our quickslot wheel and unequipping it after activating one of those dances

You shouldn’t lose the ability to do any of the dances you currently have access to, but I and other players would like to have the option to use any dance on any character.
