players joining Battlegrounds but going AFK

zyclonenuz
hi ! so this happened already twice. yesterday after reset and today after reset. there is this player (same guy) who just joins battlegrounds and just go afk. im not sure if he is also using bot. he just jump on the same location (re-spawn area) then just cast some stuff on loop.im kinda new to ESO but im guessing he is farming alliance points or something also not sure where to report it. i didnt post screenshot or mention his in game name coz i might violate forum rules.

oh i did try to report him in game but there seems to be no option for that...

There are some people who hope to lose to bring their mmr down, so that they can fight against lower skilled players. Once you reach the top you go against the same people.

Battleground groups often have players with their own objectives that are sometimes adverse to the group's theoretical goal of placing 1st or 2nd.

Not much you can do about it really. When I've challenged players on why they aren't working the objective of the match, the answers are so wide and varied that I just quit even worrying about it.

that kind of mindset is kinda annoying. :(
he could have at least not gone afk.

yeah kinda weird. hell i dont mind taking 2nd just as long as i finished my daily. but going afk is kinda annoying and not to mention i think he is using bot. all his motion are cycled. jump, light attack, some spell he cast then repeats.

since i started ESO this August i think. my journey has been quite fun and a breath of fresh air. especially my past MMORPG is full of toxic people and bots. this was probably the first time i was really annoyed.

I support this if it makes the queues faster. Love waiting 15 minutes only to get CTR/Chaosball and the game ends in 5 minutes. Spend more time in queue than in BGs.

that doesnt really work for BGs, as there is no effective MMR, it basically amounts to #games played because its just your cumulative medal score i think, theres no way to "lose" medal score, ever

so losing matches doesnt really change much

I get those a lot. They just sprint to a relic then back 5 times. It's all they do so it must be a skrip.

No idea why anyone would find that fun, you can do stuff like that outside.

When they went to do this they probably anticipated some resistance in the form of PvP. After all, capturing relics is how you win.

Complaining about someone capping relics as fast as they can is like complaining about an alliance (in Cyrodiil,) PvDooring the entire map while your alliance is online hanging out at the gate.

The winning alliance is just doing what they're supposed to do.

Unfortunately you can't make a losing team play the objective. What's funny though is you can make a winning team fight. Guess how?

You run interference, by yourself, while your solo queue team is either DMing the other DM team or relic botting not as good as the other relic bot team.

if you cue with a team that ignores objective, which is 80% of the time, you have no obligation to do anything other than preventing yourself from being kicked.

if other people cue for battlegrounds and don’t participate in what they cue for, it’s not your responsibility to cater to their death-match on demand.

just do whatever you want is my motto. there is no accountability for any one who cues and plays incongruent to what is expected. they cannot be mad at you for doing the same.

either way you are still going to lose and get that 7k AP.

is it fun? not at all. but, neither is being forced into defacto death-matches for some players trying to earn other achievements, etc.
