Hi,
I'm writing this to request that housing materials to be added to surveys rewards please - notably Mundane Runes, Heartwood, and/or Decorative Wax (but mainly the first two).
Housing has many barriers of entry as it is. Focusing only on the crafting side of things: you need to farm/buy rare new recipes from the new zone, farm the individual main crafting resource - mundanes/heartwood, and farm the new crafting style material from the new zones. These are many steps of grind. Sometimes some of these grinds don't overlap each other, and sometimes they do. During the cases where they don't overlap each other, these are all separate grinds that can get overwhelming eventually.
For furnishing custom housing builds, I noticed I spent around 2000-3500 mundane runes in two of my houses, each. All of this effort takes months of pre-planning and grinding during events to store up ahead of time. Not to mention, doing all this when working in real life, and wanting to login to ESO and just have fun after a stressful day. After 5 years of playing this game, this grind eventually gets old. And housing as a whole also gets less appealing. The mindset later becomes: "why bother picking plants and rocks virtually, when I can go play some other game that's fun?" And, If I want to buy these materials from guild traders, buying a few is doable. But for a full house? The price tag can easily be 5mill-8mill or more. If you want to furnish more than one house, it just adds up even more, thus leading to more grind. With this new proposed change, there will still be farming and a grind, however, there won't be separate grinds as much, unless you really want to engage in that and get more mats. I think with doing writs and farming surveys, one should be able to sustain their housing interests and enjoy the game more.
I really love housing in this game, and would love to see the barriers of entry be more open to everyone. A lot of aspects of housing is layered upon multiple levels of grind as it is (gold, resources, recipes, antiquity leads, .... so on). Rather than tackling everything at once, I think at least alleviating this issue first could see some improvements in the game system.
Thank you,
Hashi~
