anyone know what this new nb gank build is?

For a couple months Ive seen mag blades from stealth hitting people (including me!) with Winterborn+ crushing shock. It sometimes kills so fast (one shot) there is nothing in combat metrics and no time to react.
I can't figure out what the other sets are that make this so strong but many NB are using it . It doesn't seem to be a second proc set.

Hrothgar perhaps? Snipe from stealth which stuns if not on cc immunity, procs hrothgar, then bar swap and crushing shock, the ice portion procs winterborn.

Is Draugrkin's Grip affected by battle spirit? It seems like it shouldn’t be buffing the damage so much to kill the OP so fast, it’s not like they’re getting hit by more than 6 things in GCD.

OP, what’s your set up? Honestly, if you’re running lower health or lower armor or less mitigation (CP, vampire, protection, etc), it could just be that you just get hit hard by a lot of people but NB burst just naturally often does more dmg vs other burst combos

I was running stage 3 Vamp NB with 33k health. I have ~2200 CP and run the usual red mitigations. I was on my mount so couldn't buff resists, but it amazed me I could be dead in 2 GCD.

I was able to see one fight in Combat metrics and the first hit ( all hitting at once ) was this:
Light attack inferno: 4k
Decrease health 1270 (oblivion enhance)
Crushing shock 1500 x3 = 4500
Winterborn 4k and probably a few status effects.

So the first hit was about 16k.

But if it uses crushing weapon or Caluurions shouldn't those show up on Combat Metrics? Or do they only show up under "debuffs in"

This is a ranged gank build and they like to hit people on their mounts

I think you're right. This would explain why its mostly NB from range who stealth back up since they are taking a healing debuff. But, would elemental weapon/crushing weapon show up separately on Combat Metrics, or only under the "debuffs in" column?

Should be snipe from backbar with a barswap into force pulse. Draugrkin makes sense here too. Snipe can proc the from crouch stun effect so I would assume it's snipe to pulse

This actually won't work. There's a hidden rule that burst procs cannot be combined within a 1 second timeframe and those both are considered burst procs and the arrow into pulse will hit within that timeframe, so it can't be hrothgars. Would otherwise be a good combo tho xD

The ones I've been seeing aren't using snipe at least when I can see the recap. Seems to be a Mag NB gank build, mostly hitting mounted players from stealth. If its Draugr's then it is essentially a 1 click build

Draugrkin + Winterborn + Asylum Destro staff.

Optimally, Snipe from back bar (potentially with Point Blank Shot or Willpower for more max stats), bar swap, spam crushing shock/merciless /Meteor or incap.

asylum staff applies status effects every second cast, draugrkin buffs All damage (skills, status effects, light attacks), so all those little sources of damage stack up fast (3 status effects + 3 'individual' damage sources from each crushing shock hit and a LA essentially give you 7x draugrkin damage each second).

If one barring it, its generally Draugrkin +asylum +2x Balrogh +2x Trainee + oaken, and you just dump whatever ulti and spam crushing shock.

Its lame, and rarely wins any proper 1v1, but its a hard hitting gank set up, or when theres 20 people spamming you with this, its hard to survive.

I was going to test it, but then found I did maelstrom so long ago none of the pieces were saved by the new set function, and I never saved any of the Winterborn-- lol

My friend made this build well over a year ago, but details of it finally came out a few months ago which then caused people like Luca cash (youtuber) to make a video about it and now it is widespread

Except the Luca Cash one was entirely him trying to copy the build and put it out as his own, he missed the mark completely on the original build.

They are using snipe, you are probably just not seeing it on the recap.

It is no more lame than the current masters DW/vateshran meta builds, lol.

And it is extremely effective on 90% of what you find in Cyro. I run something similar on my NB and Sorcerer. Weave crushing/LA until you get target in range of execute and/or class burst ability. It is ranged so masters DW/vateshran builds are completely shut down.

They are getting hit by (at least) 6 things in 1 GCD though. A charged staff with force pulse will already be at least 4 and up to 6 instances of damage. Add in an enchantment, light attack, psijic skill, and winter born proc and that's at least another 4-6 instances of damage. It quickly gets out of hand with draugrkin.

yeah my guess is draugrkin + winterborn

they would likely be running high pen and if you are say riding a mount your armor buff might have fallen off

if they managed to hit you with ele sus too that would be more status effects and armor debuff

this would actually have been 2 hits

light attack (which also proc the enchant and likely also apply draugrkin)
crushing shock which proc winterborn (because of the frost dmg component, and possibly the status effects if it was an asylum staff)

and because of the changes to the passive in destro, fire staff is buffing the status effect dmg a good bit (all of which is being buffed by draugrkin)
