Max Rapport w/ Mirri, Not Working?

I just reached max rapport with Mirri, and not only did I not receive the letter in the mail that she is supposed to send when you reach max rapport with her, but the "Obtain Max Rapport with Mirri" tick in the "Treasured Comrade" achievement remains greyed out. I have tried relogging, swapping toons, and restarting the game. This is on PC-NA.

Has anyone else run into this problem?

I actually had this same problem with Ember just yesterday.

I thought that maybe I needed to get her to max level (she's only lvl 13 currently) before it worked and before that portion in the achievement list would go white/completed. I am also interested if there are others who are experiencing this.

From what I can tell, there's a bug with the new lowered values for rapport thresholds. I'm copying what I wrote in those threads, since it's the same issue. According to this thread, the solution below works.

Here are the new values with the old values in parentheses:

    Default: 750
    Friendly: 1000 (1500)
    Close: 2000 (2750)
    Allied: 3000 (4000)
    Companion: 4000 (5000)

It seems that if you had between 4000 and 5000 rapport with the companion when the patch dropped (so Allied under the old values, but not yet Companion), the menu displays you as having Companion-level rapport with the companion and their dialogue is correct, but you don't get credit for the achievement. It's possible that this is because the achievement progress is triggered specifically through gaining rapport that pushes rapport from Allied to Companion, but if the companion's rapport was already at 4000, this technically never happened, since the rapport threshold changed without any actual change in rapport.

Based on another thread, I believe it can be fixed by doing actions that decrease the companion's rapport until it falls below 4000; then you can do things that raise the companion's rapport back to 4000.

The most disliked actions for each companion (excluding Sharp and Azandar; they aren't affected because the patch that lowered rapport thresholds also added them to the game, so it's impossible to have had them unlocked when the rapport thresholds changed):
    • Bastian: murder (-25); this one may have no cooldown and may also get you an additional -10 rapport for attacking an innocent.
    • Mirri: using the Blade of Woe (includes killing enemies, not merely non-hostile NPCs) (-25, -5 during cooldown).
    • Ember: pay a bounty to a guard (-25, -5 during cooldown); Ember also dislikes getting caught committing crimes (-10).
    • Isobel: murder (-10, -1 during cooldown).

Unfortunately, the maximum rapport is still 5500, so if it's all the way at the end of the bar, it'll take a lot of annoying them to drop them below 4000.

You can check the companion's rapport value with /script d(GetActiveCompanionRapport()) in the chat window.

See... I knew there was some reason I never leveled the rapport of any of my companions. Apparently I had unknowingly been waiting for them to lower this threshold so that when I do raise their rapport, I don't get this bug. ;)

Wow.... great insight @PrinceShroob , thank you!

But also wow, why am I not surprised that people over the threshold when the change was made would be overlooked and get this obnoxious bug.

This is seriously not cool. And yeah, I've now run into the same problem with Ember. She hit max rapport, but no achievement credit. I'm really, really not looking forward to having to grind DOWN over 1500 rapport points on multiple companions, and then grind them back up just to get these achievements. ZOS, is there any chance we can get a fix on this?

Thankfully, I only have one companion to deal with this on, but trying to lower Isobel 1500 rapport has been a nightmare, and I really don't want to do it. But I want my achievement and unlock.

Running into this as well. I'm not keen on grinding Mirri back down 1.5k for this. Definitely going to hope for a fix.

@ZOS_Kevin Can we get an acknowledgement of this bug, so we know it's going to be addressed? It definitely interferes with progress.

Given how much you need to drop it, it might be easier and faster to level rapport on another character...

It seems from the PTS patch notes (though obviously they're not finalised yet) that this is going to be fixed in Update 39 when it drops with the Q3 DLC.

PC players who have access now to update 39, was this fixed? I’ve basically killed all of Tamriel trying to lower my rapport for Miri and isobel who I had above the new lowered threshold and therefore impacted by this bug, but it is taking forever to lower their rapport.
