Make Sword and Board great again for PvP

Hi people’s and hope Devs. I think that it’s horrible that every single player on pvp have an ice staff on backs bar (me too ofc). It’s really unbelievable that a stamina character especially for a Dragonknight that use fire and poison, have to equip on back bar an ice staff because is the BIS at this moment. I can understand on warden, but not on every class or stamina build generally. It needs just a little burst for make S&B great again. Cheers

BiS does not obligate you to use it.... Get creative! I use asylum SnB on my arcanists backbar so I can Infinishield without building Regen, for example.

Infinishield here means using the Magicka cost arcanist shield, the massive one, then the stamina cost SnB shield which restores Magicka with asylum SnB, back and forth continuously as needed

The only reason frost staff is "better" right now is EleSus. Ele Sus has been a crazy good ability ever since they changed it to apply all 3 status effects at once. Exacerbating this is the fact that Vateshran Staff is also really strong in the current meta.

SnB is still much better, in terms of defense, than Frost Staff - you block more damage (from projectiles) and move much faster while blocking. You also have more weapon and spell damage with sword and board, and more resists and max stats from wearing a shield.

I run sword and board on my current build - I don't need ele sus or any other destro ability, and am wearing 5 light - with a sword and board backbar I can still reach spell resist cap and am nearing 28k physical resist.

Hi, thanks for reply. I play Dk with acuity front bar, blood spawn, serpent coil and Mara balm back bar ice staff, shadow Mundus. I feel a lot sustained blocking with magicka but I will try to set some cp on blocking. If u have some advices I hear u bud

Most commonly, the players I see using ice staff on the back bar are using the Vate staff because its just crap tons of free damage and pressure. Other than that, S&B is superior because of mobility while blocking. If one is not using ele-sus, I don't see why they would pick ice staff over s&b.
