The loot in BG's purple box, why 1 Geode? Doesn't purple usually mean more/better?

So, when I'm doing battleground, the purple boxes only give 1 geode, whereas generally, isn't purple supposed to give more than blue/green?
I don't want to be mean, but one geode is like taking the <snip>out of players, knowing that you need 50 to be able to use it, so if you're only doing battleground, that's awfully long. Shouldn't this be reviewed? Or have I misunderstood something?

✭✭Back in the days BG were a nice way to get transmute stones. But they nerfed the stones and they nerfed the fun on the BGs when they removed the option to select what mode you want to play.Because I can!1 -

The real reason: there isn't one. ZOS arbitrarily decided that BGs didn't warrant the same number of stones as a random normal dungeon, despite often being a longer time commitment.3
