Magic sorcerer parses higher with fighter weapons than staves. Why why why? I hate it.

So I parse 86k with daggers and sword. 75 or so with staves. This is complete crap to me since I am a wizard and staves should be what I use.

Makes me so angry being forced into this dagger and sword setup.

Don't even get me started on being forced to use pets for it.

ESO has the most unhinged class fantasy of any game I have played.
The best wizards dual wield or (as of u39), use bows. Where is my cool mage / witch class fantasy?

The highest magsorc parse I could find with staves (flame) on esologs.com was 108k. 75k is already enough, but there's room to grow.

I like playing dual wield mag classes—it's very much not an Elder Scrolls thing that mages only use staves (many seem to use a 1-handed weapon).

My personal wizard fantasy would be using spells only and no weapons—like a common magic skill line.

Doesn't every class "parse" better with dual wield?
And every class has magicka skills.
Calling sorc and sorcerer is kinda a misnomer.

I hate it too. Desto staff needs an execute ability, because if you are using a mag class that doesn't have an execute, you are most certainly shoehorned into using a melee weapon if you WANT an execute ability.

But beyond that, this is one of the things I hate most about hybridization and the way the weapon system works. Dual wield daggers gives you the most increase for crit chance which is key to doing good DPS in this game. And I could be wrong, but I think using a 2 hander with medium armor yields the most spell damage. Makes zero sense to me.

Daggers will always be better than staff in a parse because it’s melee and that’s how ZOS decided to balance. That doesn’t mean it’s the only way to play though, especially in content where you may be at range or need crushing shock.
