Today, a thread from 2015 regarding the stuck in combat bug was closed due to it's age. @ZOS_Icy instructed us to create a new thread.

Today on the Bethesda livestream, @ZOS_RichLambert (twitch name "SlashLurk") said they are "aware" of the stuck in combat bug and that it has been a "thorn in their side" for "awhile now".

Yes, 8 years is definitely "awhile".

This is an extremely impactful bug in cyrodiil. Almost every single session I end up stuck in combat while traveling long distances on foot at least once. Over the time I've spent on ESO, I have undoubtedly lost dozens - maybe even more than a hundred hours to this bug and being forced to walk across the map.

Why isn't this being prioritized? Why isn't there an official developer statement anywhere about it?

There was a patch several years ago where this issue was particularly troublesome - and as a result, zenimax made a change to the combat ruleset to allow gear swapping after a certain number of seconds without interacting with other players. You'd still be in combat, but if you hadn't healed, dealt damage to, or distributed buffs to another player or NPC in the past 60 seconds or so, you'd then be able to change your gear and do other things like slotting siege, changing CP, etc.

Why hasn't this same exception been returned to allow for mounting, gear swapping, siege slotting, etc after a minute or so of no combat interactions?

I mean seriously, the length of time this bug has been present is totally unacceptable. Can we please have a solution to this? Or at the very least, a developer comment on the issue?
