"match-made" Question

everseeing_njpreub18_ESO
I was looking up some card leads to potentially work on and one i see (and probably others) says its from a "match-made" game. Is this making me play other players or can it be done via NPC's?

I was pleased they added NPC's to Tales of Tribute as i don't like PVP of any sort, even this, so am i unfortunately now out as far as upgrading my decks or is there some other means?

Using patrons against NPCs or specific players (whom you invite directly or vice-versa) does not count, unfortunately.

You will have to use the activity finder for those. I believe the "casual" category works, but those particular upgrades and their achievements (and therefore the overall achievements Card Connoisseur and Tales of Tribute Master) require PvP.

So if you wanna play with family and friends, not only do you not get rewards for winning but you can't even get some of the achievements? Yikes.

I assume this is so players can't intentionally lose to their friends or family to help them get achievements.
