What type of damage does a lightning staff do? I know AoE is one of the types. Does it do direct damage, DoT, channeled, single, etc.?
Thank you.

Lightning Heavies are a little funky. The channel itself is a Single Target, Damage Over Time effect. The Tri Focus Passive adds instances of AOE damage to all enemies around the channel's target that are equal to the instances of damage the channel's target suffers.

Someone can feel free to correct me if I'm wrong but AFAIK this is how it works.

Is it more of a DoT or Channel type of damage? I get the single target type and the passive of an AoE.

Those two things aren't mutually exclusive and the ability counts as both.

Edit: Although I'm not sure if Heavy Attacks count as channels for things like the High Elf passive. That'd be somethig you would need to test yourself.
