i forget her name, the imperial woman. anyway, she's selling the furnishing folios now, for like 600-800 writs. you can't know what's in the folios exactly. well actually i think someone listed it somewhere, but at any rate, my question is...

if you buy one of these folios, and let's say you've learnt 4 for them, so you don't want to learn them again... can you sell them in the guild traders? or are they bound?

yes you can sell what you get. I think the only bound things buyable with writ vouchers are the storage coffers.

I've been looking the folios up on UESP to find out what's in them, then using the CraftStore addon to check which of those my crafter knows while standing at the vendor. It's an annoying work-around, but it's the best I can do. Someone told me there's an addon which shows what's in each folio, but they never said what it's called and I haven't been able to find it.

It would be a big help if the game itself would list what's in each one.

Even worse are the "DLC packages" with random plans from a specific zone.

For example there is the markarth package, which includes markarth plans, but also dwemer plans, which got released for the markarth DLC. How do you see the difference between the dwemer base game plans and the markarth dwemer plans?

Same counts for high isle and galen. There is a high isle package now, that drops high isle plans from the big DLC only. Yet there are new high isle plans released with galen, which also just drop in galen and not in the high isle package. How can you differentiate?

well, as long as the furnishing plans can be sold in guild traders, i'm ok with that. i'd hate to have to waste a bunch of writs on things i don't need and can't sell.

i'm also glad that i got responses before this thread got moved into a category most people don't look at.

there is some irony in the 'players helping players' category, in that you are less likely to get help than from posting in 'general discussions'

i too wish there was an easier way to tell what you knew in the folio, i had to keep track of which ones i bought in a notepad document, and i still ended up accidentally buying one i already knew everything lol

i did recoup some of the money though selling the plans though so it wasnt a total loss
