Maintenance for the week of December 23:
• NA megaservers for maintenance – December 23, 4:00AM EST (9:00 UTC) - 9:00AM EST (14:00 UTC)
• EU megaservers for maintenance – December 23, 9:00 UTC (4:00AM EST) - 14:00 UTC (9:00AM EST)

Since we aren't going to get Arenas or warzones/battlegrounds until the devs are done with the imperial city pvp dungeon and such.

This would at least allow the community to run arena type fighting while we wait for the devs to implement it.

Also it is pretty meh when I get my friends in this game and a lot of big other mmo's let you duel and then my friends ask how do I duel and I say we can't and it makes ESO feel like an under budget mmo like neverwinter.

I agree it's one of the basic features of any mmo with PVP. It shouldn't be difficult to just change someone else on your faction to hostile

Yeah, it's kind of weird that it isn't already in the game. If nothing else, I'd like to have it there just to try out spells and builds against my friends.

But PLEASE never add arenas or BGs to this game... :(

I fully agree, just as long as we have the option for auto decline. Nothing worse then getting challenged to a duel while busy doing something more important.

Just as long as dueling is ONLY allowed in Cyrodiil... or other future PVP zones. I don't think there would/could be anything more done to completely tick me off than having to run through a major city/quest hub and seeing a bunch of little scribs jumping around looking like a bunch of silly jack rabbits while attempting to flex their e-peens.

To add, because Arenas are part of the Lore, go ahead and add one in a major city in each zone and limit dueling there. Have a waiting area where players could meet up, or a queue system, and duel to your hearts content.

**Edit** Also, dueling is not an ASAP thing. There's a ton of stuff that needs addressed before this is even implemented.

You can't add any kind of 1vs1 atm with the out of balance skills. ;> It would end in countless "whine" threads about dudes geting kitet to death.

Than Zenimax would need to balance PvP for 1vs1 which would for sure influence large scale pvp which leads of the players there crying for nerfs. Infinite loop. ^^

Dueling is a staple in any game that has PvP. If dueling was in game right now, I'm certain I could get more of my friends into Cyrodiil as they would could learn how to fight on the side-lines.

I'd like to see dueling as an option in our alliance bases and represented as a sort of training area.

Note that the OP wants duels while he waits for arena's.

This is not the game you are looking for. We don't want that crap here.

    No they do not!
Duels = exp/AP farming, it can and WILL be exploited!
If you want 'duels' to show how big your epeen is, arrange it online, find an area in Cyrodiil (which is HUUUUUGE), and duel there.

I don't think duels are important or really contribute in any way to the quality of the game. There plenty of 1v1 moments if you play Cyrodiil or you can start a cross alliance duellling guild if you want to meet and test things in Cyrodiil with guild mates.
I do undestand that some wish to perfect there 1v1 instant death combos, but there are many aspects of pvp, and I just don't see why the game should cater to practice this one area specifically.

Perhaps you could be limited to dueling within forts/castles once you've taken over them. Giving more incentive for players to get out there and help their alliances capture a keep or two.

If you can be anything, be kind.

I don't need any XP while duelling.

what major pvp mmo's had this in the last 5-7 years?
    warhammer? nope.
    guild wars 2? nope.
    aion...maybe?...but it was crap.

the argument "they all have dueling!!!1one" is simply not true.

dueling = fighting your friends. why would you even want to... my friends and i like killing opponents, not each other.

please, stop asking for this "feature" in games. it doesn't happen, won't happen. and if you find you hate people enough in your own faction that you need to prove your dominance over them... just switch and/or go away. this outdated troglodyte alpha-male nonsense is not something we need in nerdville.
