Views on 5/1/1 armor for Undaunted Passives.

Haven't played much in the last couple of years and was wondering of the negatives added for light and heavy armor still make it worthwhile to go 5/1/1 to use the Undaunted passives?
I'm mostly solo PVE and with 16 maxed out characters, have all builds for all roles, both Magicka and Stamina. Obviously for solo content the focus is on damage, but I'd like opinions on whether to go all light for Magicka DPS and all medium for Stamina DPS, or 5/1/1 (or even 6/1 or 5/2) for one or the other.

✭✭✭✭✭For damage it's not worth having any heavy armor. Some split between medium and light is best, typically 6/1 or 5/2. There are a few builds that will run 4/3 to make certain sets work, but this makes crit damage a little awkward with 6% or 8% coming from medium armor (generally 2%, 10% or 12% are needed to hit the 125% cap, meaning 1, 5 or 6 pc med).
The undaunted passive is still good enough to prevent 7/0 from being meta, unless you really need the extra sustain or light armor penetration.1
