Not able to duel against husband 9 out of 10 times. Any suggestions?

So my husband and I have been playing since 2014, non-stop, and we're very competitive if you know what I mean. So when ToT was announced we were excited to be able to duel against each other and see who can play the game better. Now I know that we can simply "Invite to Tales of Tribute' but trying to go through the group finder to play against each other is like trying to win the lottery. We both have 14 characters and like to complete the daily 'Dueling Tributes' quest on multiple characters each day and would really like to duel against each other to complete them. Not saying that we don't like playing against other players as it is fun and the other players help us learn new strategies but there must be something that keeps my husband and I from playing against each other through the group finder.
First, let me explain what is happening to us. We can be on at all times of the day and night as our work schedule is crazy so when we are using the group finder, we have tried at all times. But here is the weird part. We both will Q basically at the same time and we will sit in Q for up to 2 minutes while the group finder tries to find someone to match us up with, which doesn't make sense because there's two people right here waiting. But instead of matching us up to duel against each other we both sit there waiting until someone else Q's and then one of us gets pulled into the match, while the other continues to wait.

Anyone else have this problem or does anyone have any ideas to increase my chances of being able to duel against and beat my husband in ToT while also completing my daily? :D

Are you both the same rank because they try to match up by rank. Plus there are probably a lot of players queuing. I've only been matched with someone I knew once in the hundreds of games I've played.

I think it's a good thing if two people in the same location cannot queue for a random and circumvent the random part of it.

Hopefully it's the game doing a good job of looking at your location or how often you've played each other and stopping it as an anti-cheating method (I know you think it's fun, but honestly it's definitely not positive for the game to have people queue for free stuff and not playing random people!)

Exactly how would it be cheating to be able to complete your dailies with your spouse? We have always done quest together since launch of the game, why would living in the same location be a punishment to not be able to get in a Q together to do the ToT dailies? Believe it or not, everyone is not looking for ways to cheat in a game. Lol. :D

Because friends and family can help each other get ranked achievements by letting them win.

Ahhh didn't think of that. Well our twin daughters who live in 2 different states play ESO with us as well as 8 friends my husband works with and not once have we thought to get together and help rank each other up. To be honest we could care less about achievements, we stop doing that 3 years ago in the game and we could care less about getting on the leader boards, we both have plenty of Transmute Geodes/Crystals We would just like to be able to duel each other while getting our dailies done for the reward bags and chance to get clues.

I am frustrated by this as well. Almost the exact same situation, have been doing dailies with friend forever, wanted to do the daily pvp duel as well. Never get matched together even when queued same time. Its super weird. I wish the daily would include just challenging a player to a duel.

That would be a nice addition. Allow the dailies to be completed by either using the Group Tool or by challenging another player directly. That would eliminate the ability for those who would cheat to get higher on leaderboards but also allow those who would like to duel with friends/family/Guild members while still being able to complete the daily.

They don't want people being able to get these dailies done with friends and family because many would circumvent the competitive aspect of it just to get rewards. It's not about your particular family, but how these systems get abused in general. Many games have systems in place that ensure that friends and family won't get consistently matched against each other. I would imagine ESO is no different.

@Lady_Rosabella, i believe it is a good system that does NOT allow friends to play ranked,
otherwise the rigged games and "carries" (we guarantee you to win N games for this or that amount of gold) would become a thing. Carries are already in the game (for PVE dungeons or for Cyro Emperor), good that matchmaking in ToT fights with this unsportsmanlike behavior.
Play unranked, play direct invites, but, no match-fixing, please.
