What's with the Mines nerf?

    I will surely and sorely miss mines being a viable skill. This is one of the most mind-boggling changes they've ever made. Take an underused skill and make it less effective because....?

    I sure wish we had a game designer who played magsorc on his YouTube channel. Then we might get buffed for 20 patches straight.

    Idk why the devs pander to meta DPS builds that spam puncturing or executioner and do nothing for dynamic abilities like trapping webs or mines?! I've never had issues with either of those abilities in PvP because NOBODY uses them! They're trash! And with all the mobility involved with PvP I don't see why they needed to be nerfed into the ground. The giant purple glowing runes weren't easy enough for puncturing sweepes to get around??? Ugh... at least some love coming from the tryhard weaving will help :( can't belive they tour 20 timers for buffs to reduce stress but an awesome ability like mines remains at 15 with an arming delay. Dumb.

    My guess is that one of the game designers died to someone using Dark Conversion on top of daedric mines!

    Of course, the problem ISN’T the prolific and constant procs of dark convergence every two steps you take. The problem is daedric mines!

    Sometimes you can’t make this stuff up, If ZOS won’t listen to what anyone says, at least we can have a good laugh at their expense.

    Apparently players have gotten so good at killing stuff that ZOS will eventually allow only mudballs and fistfights.

    If it does damage, it needs to be nerfed!

    Like for Rune in mage skill tree, why did it exist ?

    Damaging Trap ability are either over-tuned or under performing, both in PvE or in PvP. Either you kill or you waste them.
    There's no skill involved. Bait them into it and enjoy the free extra burst.
    The biggest limitation is free slot to put them in.

    On the other end, trap skill make good CC ability.

    Since Stamina took over ESO PvP 3 years ago,
    MagSorcs are supposed to be prey, not predator.

    Therefore, ZOS nerfed everything in the MagSorc PvP toolkit.
    Shields, Streak, Overload, Pets, U35 finally Atros & Mines.

    Atros & Mines for me were the last wall of defense against the Stam invasion.
    Playing Stam is always better now as U35 FINALLY CRIPPLES THE MAGSORC.

    If a good StamDK attacks you, today a MagSorc can do NOTING.
    Even with a glass cannon LA build, you do almost NO DAMAGE to them.
    Because now that healing scales with damage, StamDKs can heal anything.
    While they hit you like a truck because shields on LA are almost worthless.

    You only can Streak away - or try to lure them into Daedric Mines.
    However, now that Mines also are dead, you can only streak away now.
    This is what "balance" has become in 2022: DKs rule everything in BGs.
    However, instead of the godmode DKs, the weaker classes get nerf after nerf after nerf.
    Update 35 is a balance DISASTER.

    Always had acces to major berserk via the on kill condition of mark target since before 2019, heal on kill is often worthless in PVP where heal is used to negate incoming sustained damage during the fight not after

    If vigor only healed you after you kill the target about no one would slot it

    If mines are meant to be limited on damage perhaps they should have something to indicate they are a mobility debuff tool.

    Maybe a unique debuff that increases roll cost by 15-20% for a short duration on those hit. Also keeping the immobilize as well.
    PvP needs more love.

    It's still... highly strange that NB is the class getting giga-buffed while most others are getting nerfed into Oblivion.

    buff on clunky skill could be not there and have the same impact

    Mark target was free before and healed roughly 60% on kill, now its a full guaranteed heal but cost 2.7k mag, its still highly unatractive in PVE and PVP because useless in boss fight with the tank providing major breach already and the buff are only obtained after killing it so you get 0 uptime on the buff, same for pvp but major breach at least become usefull

    Ambush empower was a nice buff, now that empower is worthless with the short buff duration you get its back as being a skill that fail more often than it lands with meh damage and a waste of bar slot

    Zos got borderline harassed to rework consuming darkness each combat update since Elsweyr and its still worthless outside extremely niche scenarios and left untouched in those so called "buff underused skill update"

    Dark cloak change make it unusable on non tank because standing still is a sure way to take way more damage than you would heal for in PVP and even then a tank is required to move a lot in the recent dungeon with OHK/heavy damage mechanics

    Only buff is more controlled stun with SA wich get a sure crit every 4s, concealed giving mag blade utility and extra damage and blur giving a free dodge roll after getting hit 10 time for a 5s nerf on uptime

    Moslty its either a nerf or a sidegrade that doesn't adress the reason no one use those skills or make the skill harder to use

    NB as a whole didn't ge buffed, you notice all the buff usualy are aimed at the DD role with rarely something given to healer or tank

    honestly going to be the whole game at this point if all these changes go out XD if theres no announcement that the combat changes wont get put out might as well pull the plug on the server at that point. so many people are already not playing as much when i was last online (now myself included). they have more than enough indication to know this is a death sentence for the game just like wildstar died off. Though at this point it no longer feels like players are listened to , much less how many media outlets reported this patch being pretty bad for the game. while ive taken breaks from the game , ive never done so because i was unhappy with the design of the combat changes.....this....well lets be frank is a massive turn off and unless i heaer it was scrapped i dont see myself coming back at all either =/ and yes there are plenty of other mmos out there , while i enjoy elder scrolls , i dont enjoy dealing with devs who clearly dont listen to the core issues ppl have with what theyre doing......i understand they have their vision , but that does end up meaningless in a business that needs customers (ie players) to stick around. if your vision is driving them away.....then you may want to rethink your priorities.....

    Not only that, but the cost should reflect this as well. 5k+ cost for what is essentially a ground based curse is insane. Especially since it is so easy to avoid as it lights up the ground its on like a floodlight.
