Hey there, I've mained Sorc for a while and learned several advanced mechanics with Streak/Ball of Lightning, either through experience or from other players. I figured I'd share this knowledge with everyone who may not know about these mechanics just yet! There are 4 known advanced Streak Mechanics:
1) Streak jump
2) Increase Streak range
3) Changing direction mid Streak
4) Roll dodging mid Streak
Streak jump is probably the trickiest one to do because it requires perfect timing. You want to jump right at the end of the Streak animation. What this does is allow you to jump right after your Streak ends. Why should you do it? Well, it allows you to jump onto a higher ledge that a normal Streak wouldn't let you, and also gives you extra range if you're Streaking from a higher ground. Check these videos out for example:

In the first video, Streak jump allows me to clear the gap between the walls and get onto the middle wall. If I did a normal Streak, I would fall in the gap. In the second video, Streak jump allows me to get onto that tree house near Bleaker Outpost. The only way to get on that tree house is by using this mechanic. You cannot get there even with a normal Streak.
Increasing Streak range is a simple mechanic that most of you probably don't know about, but have done it by accident. Have you ever Streaked from higher ground while holding the W key and went further than you expected? Yep, that is pretty much the mechanic at play lol. You hold W while Streaking from higher ground, and the momentum of your character will carry you further than Streak's actual 15m range. It will let you clear big gaps and gain an advantage in real fights.
Changing direction mid Streak is a deviation of the increase streak range mechanic. Instead of holding W, you will hold either A,D, or S key. This will use your character's momentum to move you in the direction of the key you're pressing. Likewise, it works best when you do it from higher ground, and it will let you either juke your opponent, or get onto a ledge that a normal Streak can't. Check this video out for example:

As you can see, I juked several DCs by dropping from the 3rd floor of Glademist's Inner Keep to 2nd floor. If you play Cyrodiil a lot, you will know that it is impossible to drop from 3rd floor to 2nd floor at that spot because the ledges on both floors are directly above each other. A normal Streak would just drop you straight to the ground and kill you. However, I used the direction change mechanic to move my character backwards mid Streak and safely escaped those DCs.
Lastly,
roll dodging mid Streak is as simple as it sounds. You may have done it by accident. If you press roll dodge during Streak's animation, you can in fact avoid all incoming projectiles. Unfortunately I don't have a video for demonstration, but if you go in game and try it, you will see that when you correctly perform this mechanic, your character will successfully dodge projectiles mid Streak, and you will also gain the roll dodge fatigue debuff on your character's buff list.
I hope these tips will help you. Now go out there and have fun!
