When I launch the game for the first time, immediately after I login, my PC shuts off and restarts right as the loading screen for character select appears. When I launch the game again after this happens, the game resets everything and I gotta accept the TOS and go through the whole song and dance as if I just did a fresh install. Afterwards I can then login and play normally just fine.

I figured it was an add-on problem maybe, so I disabled add-ons ingame, and deleted every add-on in the add-ons folder, then closed the game. When I went to relaunch, after logging in, and the load screen for character select appearing, PC crash reboots.

Ok, maybe it's an issue caused by the game being installed on my HDD and the eso live folder being in my SSD's documents folder. So I uninstalled entirely and did a fresh install this time with the game on my SSD. And everything seemed to be fixed, could launch the game without a PC crash. Until about a week later when it started doing it again.

One thing I've noticed is that my PC never crashes after I manage to login and select my character, once I'm in-game I'm perfectly fine. However if I logout to the character select screen there's a very high chance that my PC will crash reboot. Which you can imagine is unbelievably obnoxious when you're trying to swap between characters to do things. But I've put up with it for about two month now but I'm sick of it.

A bit of context, I played a lot back in 2016-2019 but took a hiatus. (also this issue never happened back then) And recently started playing again two months ago, this has been a huge pain in my side.

So I guess a compiled version of my problem is, when I launch the game for the first time my PC will crash reboot 100% of the time. My second attempt at launching, the game resets itself to a default state (I'm assuming it launches in a "safe-mode" or something), default settings, have to accept TOS again, etc. I've noticed there's about a 10% chance my PC will crash reboot AGAIN after launching in this "safe-mode" right after logging in and getting into the load screen right before character select.

I just don't know what is causing this, I've ruled out that this is an add-on issue cause it can happen with them disabled. I've reinstalled the game entirely once already, the only thing I'm certain is that is has something to do with the character select screen. In the two months of this going on, that has been the only time this crash reboot ever occurs.
