It's ok to visit my open houses if I am there

A few times now someone has entered one of my open houses only to leave the minute they realized I was inside. I am fine with players exploring and won't bother them unless they ask me a question. Feel free to stay and look around!

Almost every time I visit my own homes and someone is there they leave a minute later. Except one time I visited my bath house and two players were swimming in the spa and I felt too awkward and left them to it.

I understand some may feel awkward being "caught" in someone else's home but they don't need to feel that way because I opened the home to visitors. I just feel bad that my presence hinders others from visiting.

I 've had this hapenning too.

I usually say something in zone chat, but even a friendly phrase like: 'Welcome, how are you?' seems to scare them off.

Maybe they just wanted to steal something and got caught in action ? (I know they can't but it sure feels like it

)

i virtually never see anyone in my houses unless i got some new fancy furnishing (usually new antiquity one) and put it in my house and broadcast for my guilds to come see it lol

I think I know why people run away. I'm a very shy person so I prefer running around a home freely without the pressure of someone boring holes in my back, it makes me feel very anxious lol. There is also the added pressure that most home owners that catch me will expect interaction like compliments, or will offer a tour. Of course I can't refuse and I offer the best compliments I can, but sometimes it's like 2 in the morning and I just wanted to quickly breeze through some guild contest entries before I go to bed.

That's why I wanted to stress that I won't bother visitors. I won't offer a tour or follow them around, and will only speak if they speak to me first.

I totally agree. When other players invite me to visit their houses, I much rather prefer to explore it at my leisure versus having someone follow me around. I guess they want to be there to answer questions but I feel pressured too.

Of course I almost always can compliment their decorating because it is so much better than mine, but still...

I wish there was a way that visitors could explore a private instance of our homes. One that only they, and others in their group if they are exploring with a friend, would be allowed in, like a copy of the real house. There are already multiple copies of every house so maybe it could be possible.

That would be interesting because then they can open doors and turn lights on/off and it wouldn't affect the main house. I assume it would reset every time someone entered, although if they were in a group then it would allow multiple players at once.

I have been to at least one of your houses and you werent home! I did not swim in a the spa though. I remember it was really cool...but I visited a lot of houses that day. I might need to go back through!

I usually go ahead and wander about; even if someone is home and havent had anyone offer me a tour, though there was some chatting.

My homes are usually my AFK spot, so I might be home, but I am probably not REALLY at home.

In fact...I am about to do that now!

I just wish we could could open up more of our homes on console for others to see and visit. As it is now we only get one home.

I'll look through my guild list to see if a player is working on a house and I'll pop in, if we happen to see each other, I give them a wave and text them hello. People love it when you pop in, gives them a chance to show off their work. I've had guildies ask me about how to link items together so they can be moved as one.

I wish we could leave notes, letting players know we were visiting their home while they were away.

If you join the EHT Community you can. Players can list their houses as Open Houses and there is a guest book that pops up that visitors can sign. There is also a link to the mail so you can send them comments that way.
