I'm not sure I agree with that. I didn't feel that the Savage WW Stamsorc build was any more effective at wiping me out than gank blades, bomb builds, or some DK builds. A lot of builds are were equally devastating.
These changes ruin the entire class.
Bound Armaments? What the heck, that skill is supposed to be equal to NB's proc. Now its worse than a normal spammable (not counting god-mode, buffed Surprise Attack).

✭✭✭✭✭As a stam Sorc main since launch, I didn't have much interest playing pvp in high isle with stam Sorc becoming s tier and cookie cutter with band wagoner's flooding the scene with Oakensoul + Savage WW and the CW buff. I don't find that fun to play as, nor fun to play against. I'll play something else.
I knew.. knew the buffs would lead to an absurd nerf, but I'm always surprised by how far they're willing to go.
What is the point in improving a skill like CW 1 patch to actually make it worth using, to noticably over buffing it just so they can nerf it worse than it was before.
I want my original CW back. For anyone not aware, the 2 hits of CW when added together is slightly weaker than 1 hit of Wrecking Blow, without empower.
It's about 55% power of a melee spammable. It's just not worth using for the headache it causes anymore.
BA... My god. HOW. It's only slightly more powerful than a ranged spammable like Force Pulse, except it costs at least 2 GCDs to activate the buff and throw out.. it has a projectile travel time incorporated with the 0.3s intervals meaning it takes about 1.5 to 2.5s to hit your target completely, making it the easiest and most telegraphed skill in the game to dodge. Finally, it takes time to build up, where is the pay off for all the invested time and GCDs? There is none. It's dead.
To top it off, they removed the light attack damage passive instead of replacing it or improving the skill at all.
How about a 60s duration?
How about 2 stacks earned on a heavy attack like NBs bow proc?
How about providing the 8% stamina for the duration of the buff instead of passively for slotting.
How about a new buff instead of stamina since it's the weakest possible offensive stat it could provide? They're giving DK, Warden and NB weapon/spell damage for using basic abilities, but Sorc gets stuck with stamina.. why?
Why the hell is Sorc the only class that got nerfed due to hybrid changes when the hybrid changes have enabled every class in many different ways new skill combo's they didn't have before.
It's ridiculous.
Where is the compensation for Crit Surge over the years, our only class hot that isn't reliable, it's a proc.
Crit chance on medium armor removed. Crit chance on sets lowered across the board. Frequency of damage ticks reduced to a quarter of what they once were. Free 7k health and 1k damage given to base characters, meaning it effectively takes longer for flat heals to heal to full while regular heals have scaled higher to compensate.
Why not increase the duration from 33s to 40s to line up better with armor and dot changes being 20s base?
Why not buff power surge from a 3s CD to 2s, effectively a dead skill that is even harder to proc now with the hot frequency tick changes?
Why not increase the heal from 3300 to 4000 for Crit Surge or base it off your offensive stats?
Dark Deal vs Dark Exchange... Why would you give Mag Sorc more of a burst heal and higher cost when they already have flappy bird for a bust heal and 3k stamina is ridiculously hard to sustain? Why would you give stam Sorc the lesser burst heal and shorter duration on the secondary resources making it hella awkward to prebuff with now that all dots and our armor buff line up with 20s.
Why would you nerf Atronach morphs to 15s because Oakensoul builds have major and minor heroism allowing them to spawn 2 Atro's instead of just NERFING Oakensoul.. the root of the problem. You're telling me it's just a coincidence that you find it a problem in high isle, instead of any other patch over the past 5 years?
Why are you completely revamping combat, instead of finishing what you started? HELLO? Where are the hybrid changes you mentioned to crit and damage stats?
Stam Sorc and Mag NB are still sitting with minor prophecy and minor savagery, both of which have no access to a source of active major savagery and prophecy in a skill. The only option is to use the wrong potion or to slot a dead skill like Inner Light or Camo Hunter... While DK and Templar have just switched their jewelry enchants and called it a day.
How about speed? Let's just hand over minor expedition to Mag Blades on a spammable, 1 of the last things stam Sorc had going for them, to a class that is able to stack major and minor expedition via 2 skills while Sorc needs to choose.
If Sorc isn't suppose to be strong with delayed burst and speed, what are we suppose to be good at? It's certainly not defense.
The only thing ZOS seems to be okay with handing out in spades is sustain. We've got 6/12 passives based on resource cost/sustain and tons of skills that have extra effects based on sustain. Crystal Weapon, Fury, Overload, BA. Give us something new FFS.
Every class had some nerfs, but some positives too. I just can't understand why they would delete stam sorcs because of changes they made a patch ago and sets they nerfed this patch.

I already switched to frags with the change to CW last patch. Having to weave another skill in between CW casts, preferably another spammable, already took the argument for more bar space away. It's also much more fun to use.
I also rarely used the BA proc, because paying attention to the count on it made the rotation significantly more difficult, without adding much damage. Why the heck would anybody use it now? I know you’re nightblade/DK lovers but you have thoroughly and completely wrecked this class. Magicka, Stamina, and Hybrid. You need to think harder about the health of your dying and broken game. As funny as it would be to watch more players walk away until ZOS cannot afford to pay you, wouldn’t it be easier to just balance your game better?
Go back to the drawing board now and fix this disaster. We reject it. Try playing Sorc for a patch cycle in PVP. If it’s painful for you or this idea just doesn’t sound fun, imagine how we feel.

Guess people like you are the reason stuff gets nerfed. If something clearly is overperforming, it clearly is not fine. The more people understand in regards to class weakness and strengths, the better good advice for adjustments could be given. But reality is: people always enjoy if their class is OP for some time. As others are happy when something broken gets nerfed to the ground.
This kind of mentality is bad. I mean nerfs and buffs needa happen. But I have yet to see any decent way of adjusting power that did result in a level playing field. How old is this game? How can it be that some classes never ever have been decently balanced yet?
Anyway, Sorc ain't squishy in a sense that survivability is bad. It will get a hard hit in this regard if the changes go live as is, but as of now, Sorc is very, very survivable and has incredible bursting potential. For a long time now sorc was a valid 1 vs x class, and this is rather telling.
Anyway, I am not fine with the current nerfs, absolute overkill. I am not surprised either, because everyone did see where new crystal procs with all the delayed stackable damage and some added procs would go. Except of course the devs. They didn't see it coming

Wardens and Templars, my friend.
Stam Sorc has like 4 skills they use. Crystal Weapons/Frags, Bound Armaments, Hurricane, and possibly Curse. They also have pets. Crystal Weapons was way overtuned and needed a nerf, but this nerf makes it so if you miss timing on any light attack, you now drop your DPS drastically. It probably needs a 10-20% damage increase from this nerf to make up for that, since even end-game players miss one or two light attacks in a 5 minute boss fight.
As for Bound Armaments, it might have been overtuned. But nerfing it 40% is way too harsh. 10%, maybe. But it's one of two attack skills that stamina sorcs have. And you nerfed both of them into being bad? What are we supposed to do now? Stack dual wield and fighter's guild skills and use hurricane only? Might as well remove stam sorc from the game, since it basically has no skills now.5 -
Melzo✭✭✭✭Warden has only 1 powerful skill. And the sorcerer has as many as 3. Nerfed and goodbye .. Don't like nerfs??? Become such an overseer?? Noet that the sorcerer has become weak. Everyone became weak. Dk has lost a lot in damage both in periodic and in direct. The necromancer lost his self-healing and protection. Vorden didn't get far. The sorcerer is simply impossible to catch and kill with a Warden necromancer dk ... The sorcerer simply destroys them. If a dk can kill with explosive damage, then necro and warden are just meat for sorc. Plar despite the fact that it can be overtaken. You can't kill anyway, the only class that can compete with a sorcerer is nb... At least you have more useful abilities than a necromancer and a warden...
Sorcerer and NB have absolutely always been the most popular and strongest classes in the game. The meta has changed and at the same time, assemblies have always appeared capable of destroying any other class.
If it were not for hybridization, then the affairs of the sorcerer would have gone badly. But now hybridization. Goodbye. Curse, crystal, blades, mines, finisher..... Is it not enough for you?? In comparison, the warden has cockroaches, while the necromancer has a skeleton and synergy. Just do not feel sorry for the insolent sorcerers. I somehow went to the bg capture of relics and there were 4 sorcerers in one team, they simply destroyed the other two teams and did not take the relic. They just humiliated the players. They have zero deaths. I do not see fair play from the NB and sorcerers. Nb kills in a second without giving a block and heals, and forty dps is such that I couldn’t even heal under the block .... Well, what can I say ?? I love this update. Except nb(1 -

Oh man what a relief. Now i can sustain my shield 0.001 second longer, sorc op definitely needs nerf because they have shield! (to which everyone else has access unless you want 3 shield for some unknown divine reason or you like playing shieldcast online since that is all you will be doing if you try to stack 3 of them when everyone has god tier dmg and melting the first before you hit the second anyways.)Indirectly, I think this patch actually helps out Shield sorcs somewhat. The lower light, heavy attack damage, paired with the weaker damage per tick dots, really eases some of the pressure a shield will take in combat. Not a lot, but could be enough to make them a bit more useful again.

✭✭Nbs did not get a huge buff. Stamblades got the crit for ambush but it no longer has a stun and empower is useless for them so it's pretty average when you look at other skill options. The buff they got was killers blade, but it's a stam skill. Magblade got a significant nerf to twisting path, one of their best dots and not just a nerf but to the point that it is close to bottom of the list for viable dots. tbh I'm one shotted by more templars and crows then then blades by a mile. They were useful back before elswyer. Seriously sorcs should feel lucky. Read those patch notes. Every single skill had a substantial nerf. I've mained nb for a while, spent a lot of time in bg during the event. I've seen 5 nbs in the maybe 60 odd rounds I've played in the last few days? It was utterly dominated by crows and plars. nb being half decent in pvp is a direct result of gear. Stampede nukes anything they have as a gap closer. Ppl are so attached to this idea that nbs are still meta in any sense just because of the cloak. This is actually a joke now among players who have mained nb since beta. The reality is that it's expensive as hell and damned near anything you do will drop invisibility. That ship sailed long ago. One snare and your done.

Btw I was going to try stamsorc but it seems next patch they are getting nerfed to nonexistance so I am glad I did not invest any hard earned gold and transmutes :-) I hope one day they fix sorcerer because I love the theme, what a shame... Please, shove streak to your bucket :-) everyone has access to cheaper and/or way reliable gap closer they can spam on the streaking sorc. They are only good for running away until they streak 5 times and die due to 0 magicka while their opponent spam non cost scaling and reliable mobility on them, unless it is a bowsorc alike which is getting the worst nerf in eso ever happened (that broken specific sets needed to be adjusted, class was fine..). Anything but sorcerer because the anomaly of a set savage werewolf and some others that have been abused by sorcs and especially the bowsorcs getting the gentle beating it seems, but the sorcerer is getting obliterated. All they needed to do was to balance and nerf those cheesy sets and tone down stamsorc just a bit but no, literally destroy sorcerer as a class because why not :-) 4 -
Caribou77✭✭✭✭✭Magsorc and especially Magden have been bottom tier PVP for quite awhile and U35 will make Magden even worse: gutted Advanced Species passive and crippled Deep Fissure, Magden’s only viable offensive skill. Waiting 9 seconds for your one decent damage skill to roll out (and often miss!) is not going to work. PVP is 10 times faster than that.
MagDen will be deader than dead after U35. Snare removal and a decent burst heal won’t save you if you have no source of reasonably quick offense. Dks and buffed Nbs will slaughter you before 9 seconds are up. And if you do land that 9 second deep fissure hit, you’ve only got 9 more seconds to finish them off with your MagDen execute: Deep Fissure!4 -
