Hello there, as above.

What do you think meta nbs are running right now and will run after the patch?

    Caluurion + order's wrath (kahjiit) + oakensoul

This today is enough to kill anyone with less than 35k health in an Instant.

Next patch? Replace Caluurion with flame blossom.
Baradur Morker - Level 50 Bosmer Nightblade
    Le-Duck - Level 50 Dark Elf Dragonknight
    Boom-Stormer - Level 50 High Elf Sorcerer
Nemeliom the Great - Level 50 Redguard Warden
Crazy Little Maggie - Level 50 High Elf Templar

You dont even really need Orders wrath now, but next Patch you may want to.

I have been running Caluurion, Ashen, Oakensoul in MYM. I think Flame Blossmom is better than Ashen (edit: it definitely is), but I dont have the pieces I need (edit: I got them). If my incap combo lands, the person is dead, full stop. Even a Heavy attack into a concealed weapon will kill most things if one of my heavy attacks crit to proc Caluurion. It is stupid strong if pure ganking is your goal. Most of my kills show up as 1.2 seconds.

    Crit Damage Cap:

First priority is to get your crit damage to 125%, and I am slightly over on live that without axes, shadow, or orders wrath. I am a Khajiit with Maces and Thief mundus. I sit at like 49% spell crit which I think is just barely enough.

My crit damage is actually over capped when I am flanking. 50% Base, 10% Minor Force (channeled acceleration), 20% major force (oakensoul), 15% backstabber, 10% fighting finesse, 2% 1 piece medium, 12% Khajiit, 10% NB passive. That is 129%, so 4% over. I dont mind a little over as you cant always guarantee a flanked attack, but a pure gank should be.

Next patch, we are losing Major force from Oakensoul, but we gain a bar slot because you wont need a skill for minor force as the ring will now give it to you. That leaves my current build at 109%, meaning I need to make up 16% to get to the crit damage cap. Lots of ways to do that, axes, shadow mundus, orders wrath, more medium, etc.

If caluurions nerf holds up, which it probably will because its kinda broken, that loadout you listed makes a lot of sense. A Khajiit Oakensoul NB wearing Orders Wrath will have a least 50 base, 10 minor force, 15 backstabber, 10 fighting finesse, 12 Khajiit, 10 NB passive, 8 orders wrath for a total of 115%, so you really need to only come up with 10%. One axe and two pieces of medium armor get you there. Alternatively, you could double up on proc sets, drop Orders wrath and just run shadow, but you might struggle to get your crit chance to an acceptable level.

Mostly just thinking out loud, haha. I started farming Flame Blossom last night. Nice thing about orders wrath is its easy to make in whatever you need.

Random tangent… I’m surprised to hear people talking about the crit damage cap in such a way, like they want to hit the max but not go over. In pvp where everybody has base impen plus probably a bit extra, isn’t stacking crit damage as high as you can the thing to do? Assuming you have other needs met as well.

That doesn't change the fact that tha we can only do 120% crit damage. Even if someone has 200% crit resist, that 200% will be deducted from my 120% crit damage. Consequently, if I had 300% crit damage, it would still only do 120% crit damage and the 200% would be deducted from the 120%.

Pretty sure it's 125%, but your premise is correct. Crit damage is one of the few things that is truly hard capped in this game (as I say that, I am not sure I can think of another example). Every percent over 125 is a wasted stat that could be spent elsewhere. This is true in both PVE and PVP. In PVE, crit is king and 125% should be something you consider very carefully either solo or with your group. In PVP crit is certainly king for ganking/bombing, so same logic. Excess crit is wasted regardless of your targets level of crit resistance (at least as far as I know).

Also, In response to an earlier comment I made, Flame Blossom is DEFINITELY better than Ashen. LOL. Did some IC ganking with Caluurion/Oaken/Flame Blossom last night. Its strong, not Caluurion strong, but strong. If both land and at least one crits, an unsuspecting target is toast.

Doesn’t seem consistent with how other things work does it? Oh well, thanks for clearing that up.

Nightmother's gaze is such a good ganking set, and craftable (but no one sells). Getting major breach on the opener without blowing your cover or working with the extremely clunky crushing weapon is worth more than any other 5 piece on the table. If you mix it with a popular ganker set like Caluurion, Stygian, or Orders Wrath you'll be delivering one shot globals like you're Amazon Prime.

Source: I've been running it for 3 patches now, probably going to keep using it in update 35. It's that grail set.

I’ve been wearing Cal, Deadlands Assassin, Oaken. If I get my combo right, time my burst when the player’s buffs are down, and the stars are aligned, I can take down players as high as 40k health in a combo and a few whirling blades.

Not sure what I’m running next patch.
